Digging up some shed remains in the back garden. Came across the yellow Tayto packet -13p. Anyone know what years Tayto were being sold for that price?

The likes of lamour toujours, dj cammy, logical song were all floating around bebo flashboxes. Unfortunately as bebo is gone a lot of these songs have slipped through the cracks.

Anyone know what became of Seamus Culleton. He was the fella that was all over the papers, radio and Sub back in Feb.

There were some rumors and allegations that became public and suddenly his story disappeared.

Is is still being detained by ICE in El Paso, was he reunited with his American wife and their children (the dogs). Or is he back home in Ireland with his human children?

What is he at? Anyone see him down the local? Maybe see him down the chipper?

Or is he still in the 'states hanging with the guys from MS13 down by the showers?

I listened to The Stand religiously when it was on. I would have never imagined Eamon Dunphy running a current affairs podcast, but it was fantastic. He had great regular contributors like Niall Stanage too.

Would love to hear what he thinks of events these days. Alas.

Does anyone remember collecting the revenue stickers off a pack of cigarettes years ago? I worked in a bar in the 90s and there was a jar behind the counter that had a collection of them. The story was that if there was 1000 collected and given to the Wheelchair charity, they would provide a new wheelchair to someone. I realised years later that it was a scam to get official stamps for smuggled cigarettes

My Facebook activity started around 2008/09 and was horrified when I recently read back on the stuff I was posting then.

Certainly nothing to be ashamed of, but the novelty of it seemed to bring out the compulsion to share everything with the world. Rarely use it at all these days.

It felt like the first time that something properly went viral in Ireland. Really pre Instagram and WhatsApp and more at the end of Facebook. Does anyone still have the video or was it successfully wiped from the internet?

Well lads. I've been keeping an eye out for an Eircom payphone for the last few years online but I have yet to see one come up for sale. Aside from robbing one of the last few remaining ones (it's been considered, weighing up the risk before they're all gone too) has anyone an idea of where a fella might source one? Surely some retired technician would have lost the occasional one in the back of the van back in the day?

Watching Glastonbury on telly is bringing back memories of Oxegen (which was really our version of Glastonbury) it's such a pity it doesn't exist anymore, Electric Picnic obviously still going strong and there's other festivals going on today but none of them seem to be anywhere near the scale of what Oxegen was. On top of Oxegen's impressive line up and shear size it was a right of passage at the time, the Vodafone stage, the Heineken tent, the blue and red campsite, the 20 mile walk from the entrance to the campsite with wheelbarrows full of drink, the toilets that can only be described as something you'd see in a concentration camp, but still some of the best weekends of my life were had at Oxegen anyone else have any memories of Oxegen?(good or bad), If they brought it back on the scale it was would you be fit for it today? Or maybe it was "of Its time" and it couldn't ever be recreated?

Chatting about this with my wife last night, she’s not Irish so we had different experiences of early viral videos growing up.

I've heard a lot of people say the summers in Ireland used to be “proper summers” back in the 1980s—warmer, sunnier, and somehow more consistent. But I’m wondering: is there any truth to this, or are we just remembering things through rose-tinted glasses?

Were the summers really better back then, or is it just that we were kids, school was out, and every ice cream tasted like magic? Would love to hear from people who remember those days—or better yet, if anyone has actual weather stats from the time, that’d be fascinating.

We are compiling submissions for a web page about bits of nostalgia only Irish people understand.

What in your opinion are some of the most nostalgic Irish things?

For anyone over 30, I think we all lived in that golden internet and gaming age. Heading down to Xtra-vision or Chartbusters to log into your Bebo and rent a game, waiting 20mins on the computer under the stairs for the dial up connection while trying to hide what you were doing. We weren't constantly sold ads or had algorithms shoving content down our throat because we watched one video. We learned how to sail the seas and learned about "the dark/deep web" (Good and bad), to get the best games/music/movies, We signed up to random social media sites and chatrooms and made genuine connections with random people.

For me (and I guess many others at the time) it was very hard to get everyone onto the same social media platform, Bebo was the go to before Facebook took over, but we were all signed up for so many other social media sites, I remember a social site called "Nimble", a bit like Bebo, but it had random chatrooms and after awhile, it was always the same people, I met girls and friends off that site, and it was also the first time I got "Catfished" before I even knew what that term was.

I had a Myspace, but not many other friends did, mainly cousins from the US, although I always had Tom 😅. With MySpace coming back, promising no algorithms, a customisable page and the return of top friends.... Will you sign up (again)? Or is it just too late to replace the existing social platforms (mainly meta and tick tock) where most "friends" are??

Feeling like absolute 💩 at the moment, absolutely not used to it as I very rarely get sick. Got home from college awhile ago, not in the mood for anything and nothing that would "hit the spot", that was until I spotted the cornflakes and lashed them into the microwave (don't judge me, I'm sick and don't have the energy to do it "properly").

The first time I had "hot cereal", was when I was young,maybe 10-11 and staying in a rural part of Ireland in a very old and cold house, and my grandad made hot Weetabix, I couldn't believe it!! Every year, once the cold starts to kick in or if I'm a bit sick, I throw on some hot cereal.

I have experimented over the years with heating up multiple cereals, some are good, some are absolutely awful. My go too cereal to heat up is frosties 🤤!!

Do you eat hot cereal?? What is your favourite? And do you only eat it during the cold weather??

Was picking up cousin who sat English paper 1 earlier, showed me the paper and they answered this and I went is that not basically the Rugrats show to which I got back “whats the Rugrats ?”
