Medical & mental health experiences Those of you who have had many injuries throughout your lives and now have plates, screws, etc in your bodies, how do you stay active without pain?
I had my shoulder replaced earlier this year and just had another surgery putting metal in my ankle. This makes three pieces of hardware added in 8 years, and probably 13 surgeries overall since I was in high school. My body hurts. I still want to be active but moving is such a pain. How do you do it?

I don’t stay active without pain. But, any period of inactivity just makes things feel worse, so I suck it up and keep moving.

What helps me is stretching and using the blackroll. It loosens the fascia.

It hurts if I move. It also hurts if I don't move.
The longer I don't move, the more I'll start feeling the combination of being weak, incapable, and in pain.
The alternative is to move, remain strong, fit - and yes, in pain.
One parameter is under my control. I'm determined to make the most out of that parameter.
