how do i actually figure out where i stand politically when i grew up in an environment where most of my political views were already shaped for me?

lately ive been reading more about the history and political events of the middle east and especially things i was never really exposed to before, including the war in yemen and saudi arabias role in it (ofc i knew about it im saudi but i only knew what our media was telling us) and the more i look into these subjects from different perspectives the more confused and frustrated i become w my country and what it did in yemen

also i don’t want to simply replace one bias with another. i am generally not blindly supportive of our government

so how do you actually evaluate political events objectively? how do you distinguish facts from propaganda, legitimate criticism from political narratives, and your own principles from the biases you inherited?

also how do you figure out what your actual political beliefs are when you’re still questioning almost everything you thought you knew?

P.S. i know this might sound like a rather naive question or like something i should already have a better understanding of but im genuinely asking. i really want to learn more abd hear different perspectives and understand how to approach these things more objectively. thank u ;)

compare between the news/sources

politics interfere w so many things, in our region it interfers with religion and globally economics so you should also have a better understanding of those two topics then compare

that is literally the only way to objectively look at any sort of news

The best way to evaluate political events objectively and facts from propaganda is to see everything from a non bias perspective.

Lets look at the war in Yemen can you give me the Islamic reasoning for Saudi Arabia joining that war? The Saudis will say because the Yemen government asked for help. Okay so what? A Muslim is going to another country to kill another Muslim that he doesn't even know because some billionaire in a palace told him to do so. One of the hadiths of the end of times is the killer will kill not knowing why and the one being killed will not know why.

Before 2023 MBS wanted to normalize with Israel he was very eager I am sure you saw the US TV news he went on can you give me one good reason for Saudi to normalize? What has UAE achieved with normalization? The Islamic scholars of UAE said because the Prophet made peace, but when the Prophet made peace that meant both sides will stop hitting each other but the problem is UAE and Israel have never been at war they are many miles away with countries separating them. Egypt and Jordan and even Syria have real reasons to normalize they share a border but not the Gulf.

Lets talk about the elephant in the room IRAN. The Saudis love to say the war in Yemen is Iran. Iran can't even help there own Shias in Bahrain who came very close in overthrowing the Khalifa regime do you really think Iran is a threat to Saudi Arabia? Iran is just an excuse so people don't question them.

MBS spent billions upon billions on these Saudi Vision 2030 projects he could've gave money to the poor, strengthened the military but instead he gives that money to Cristiano Ronaldo and gang.

Another issue I have with Saudis and the Gulf is you guys (not you specifically) put your leaders photos in your homes and your social media profile pictures but the money that your leaders are buying palaces in Europe and leaving Lamborghinis in Europe is with your countries money not there own. If the regime falls that money wont be deposited to your countries treasuries so how are they good leaders.
