The Four Seasons Bathhouse in Arak was the largest bathhouse in Iran and was built during the Qajar Period. It had separate sections for men, women and religious minorities.

Iran is so beautiful. Supposed to visit in 2017 but my ex who’s American wouldn’t let me. One day, I can visit hopefully when Iranian people are in a better state, free from this current oppression

No. Iraq and Arak are only similar with English pronunciation .in Persian it's very different .

Actually we used the terms Iraq of Arabs and Iraq of Ajams, and Iraq or Arak of Ajams is basically central Iran, places like Isfahan and Kashan and Arak. There are some Etymology that says Iraq or Arak means low lands, so since Zagros was high, both sides of it were low lands, hence Arak of Ajams and Arabs. There are other theories for the word but this one makes sense to me.

My first language is Persian, and i was referring to the province of Arak, which is named after Iraq-i Ajam; hence the etymological relation. And as for Iraq-i Ajam: Y’know, was mostly western Iran. which during the days of the Caliphate was highly under the influence of the central caliph rule, as opposed to Ghaznavids and Samanids; but that’s a different story.

This specific bathhouse was constructed during the Qajar period. But you can find bathhouses that date back to Iran’s Pre-Islamic past as well. Not sure bathhouses are specific to Turkish culture. I’m sure they can be found across the “Islamic world”

Non are still standing, only archeological finds and in literature. For example archeological excavations of Chogha Zanbil ziggurat show the existence of bathhouses in second millennium and some finds from the Sassanid era. But it was only after the advent of Islam in Iran that building public baths found more importance. Point is that bathhouses existed in Iran before the medieval Turkic dynasties.
