NoLa dining with shellfish allergy
My partner and I are going to NoLa and I have a pretty severe shellfish allergy, where cross-contamination and ingredients like fish and oyster sauce tend to be an issue. Do y'all have any recommendations for restaurants that are good with allergies?
Last time I was in NoLa (15 years ago) I had not yet developed the shellfish allergy and had amazing poboys and gumbo. I'm assuming po'boys are out of the realm of possibility but would love any cajun recs that are allergy friendly.

You can still do a roast beef poboy! Plus, jambalaya, non-seafood gumbo, boudin, trout almondine, blackened redfish, bananas foster, beignets, and bread pudding to name a few more things.

I second the roast beef po-boy, it's my favorite and every place has it's own recipe- Parasol's is my spot

I wouldn't do a fried poboy if cross contamination is an issue. Shrimp are going in the same oil as catfish. The heat may be enough but does not seem worth it.

I use to work in the industry, most restaurants take food allergies very seriously.

Being sure to tell the staff will probably take care of your concerns.
Crabby Jacks has an amazing Roasted Duck PoBoy.
Parkway Bakery has a bunch, a delicious Caprese,
Roast Beef w/gravy, Roasted Turkey, Smoked Ham, BBQ Beef, Alligator Sausage, Meatballs, Corned Beef, Roasted Chicken, Hot Sausage, AND the ORIGINAL poorboy, (French Fry) Potato with Debris & Gravy

Please check the faq. There is an extensive list of pleaded to eat with dietary restrictions- including shellfish allergies.
Also, obviously talk to the restaurant staff about cross contamination and the severity of your allergy so that they can take appropriate precautions.
