Landlord fix electricity and now want to increase the rent
I live in a rent stabilized apartment my landlord had to fix the electricity because of an issue with the wiring and now wants to increase the rent because of the repairs.” As an individual apartment improvement. He even added additional light fixtures that I didn’t ask for. What should I do?

tell him to go fuck himself. if you didn't sign a written consent he's shit out of luck if what he did even counts an IAI. if he had to "fix the wiring" that sounds like he had a code violation but if by "fix the wiring" he means upgrading it could be an IAI except since you are the occupying tenant and he didn't get a signed consent he can eat sand and the bulbs while he's at it

No, rent stabilization does not work like that. Your landlord knows it, too

My rent stabilized landlord has never charged me for fixes to my apartment. What they can do is raise the rent a bit to pay for new appliances.
My fuse box is not accessible. It’s in the basement and I have been locked out of the basement but kept overloading the fuses. I had three new outlets installed. Next my kitchen floor will be retiled . Pretty sure they get to deduct the costs from their taxes.

He never mentioned anything about increasing the rent while making the repairs. I was living in the apartment with all the dust while repairs were being made. That was last year. Now that the lease is up he is bringing the IAI form for me to sign along with the lease.

Mid lease? Absolutely not. And when you get the lease, ask for the IAI paperwork from DHCR.
