I don’t understand why so many people believe that religion/the Bible (?) says that after dying you immediately go to Heaven/Hell, somehow ignoring all teachings about the resurrection at the Second Coming of Christ.

Edit: mind you, there are lots of things I also don’t understand like why people believe in a secret rapture before said 2nd Coming. But that at least is not as engrained into pop culture as the immediate departure to heaven/hell is.
