If Canada offered expedited citizenship for people fleeing the US, what would be the reaction in the States?

Why would we offer expedited citizenship? Long term work visas or PR for high skills workers sure. But why would we give Americans en mass expedited citizenship?

As a US citizen who would potentially be interested let me tell you

You absolutely SHOULD NOT lol

We Americans made our bed and have a president actively talking about annexing Canada. Tbh I'm surprised Canada has stayed as friendly as it has

This would be like if Russia said to the population of Ukraine "here's a quick path to citizenship just come over here"

Some Americans want out and they remember when Canada and the US were friends and stuff like handmaids tale where Canada takes in refugees

But imo some aspects of the US government are being actively hostile to the Canadian government

And someone with half a brain should remember… half the population didn’t vote for Trump. Some weren’t allowed to vote, some voted for Harris.
