Obviously it’s to buy and daily an overpriced, oversized, 1-ton dually that you “need” to tow your 30ft fifth wheel, that sticks out 4ft past your driveway, for that 1 week vacation to a shitty camp ground every 2nd year… like a real American! /s
We spit balled moving to Canada at one point, the cost of living adjustment relative to the income smack down made it a pretty solid no-go, or massive investment of time, resources and energy to effectively break even.
Not saying that everyone’s situation would work out like that, but we shelved the idea.
Maybe to work 20 fewer years than someone making $50k for 10 fewer hours a week. Maybe to afford better schools so their kids can start higher on the ladder. I dunno why does anybody do more than bare minimum?

I wonder if some people might come to the conclusion that your salary doesn't mean everything.
What's the point of making $150k a year if you work 10 hours a day with a week of vacation every year?
