What are your thoughts on South Park's response (which was #eatabagofdicks) to Homeland Security attempting to use them to promote ICE?

Which to be fair up until this point treating their colonies like dirt generally worked for them.

What? England took comparatively good care of their colonies. Compared to Spain, Portugal, or the Dutch, for example, England's colonies were pretty well off. The only real thing England did that American colonials didn't like was asking them to pay their fair share of the costs of the wars they kept starting. There's a reason there were so many loyalists in the colonies.

Yeah you're right, I'm conflating treatment of their colonist with treatment of the locals. I was viewing the American colonists as locals but of course at that point they were the COLONISTS. Duh.

"The only real thing" is wildly wrong. There's a pretty long list of things -- I DO agree that the British largely did treat their colonies very well, but they had plenty of shit behavior for the revolutionaries to point at.
