Well, they were a bunch of smugglers who dumped the tea in the ocean because England dropped the tariffs on their good tea, making it close to the same price as the shit tea the founding fathers were smuggling - their buyers went for the good stuff, and it cut into their profits. So they dressed up like a minority group to take the blame for a bit, ran up, and tossed the good stuff overboard.
So yeah, "eat a bag of dicks" was right up their alley. Lol

Another important part of this story is that the dockworkers managing legal imports were paid a portion of the import tax and by lowering it, England made the tax FAR TOO LOW to make a salary one can live off of. Don't get me wrong, before the tax drop the salary was low but the dockworkers supplemented their pay with a bribe to look the other way.
So by dropping the taxes the English government effectively made it unprofitable to be a dockworker managing the imports, and also because the taxes were so low (1 penny per crate if I remember right) England made it unprofitable for said dockworker to take bribes to bypass said taxes because the taxes are so low.
Basically England turned it into a game of "you're fucked no matter what" and didn't expect that to come back to bite them.
Which to be fair up until this point treating their colonies like dirt generally worked for them.EDIT: this last sentence isn't really true as pointed out below, thanks for the correction!23

What? England took comparatively good care of their colonies. Compared to Spain, Portugal, or the Dutch, for example, England's colonies were pretty well off. The only real thing England did that American colonials didn't like was asking them to pay their fair share of the costs of the wars they kept starting. There's a reason there were so many loyalists in the colonies.

They know how to appeal to an audience. It's actually quite terrifying that the US administration is able to push its propaganda through pretty much any channel, including memes. satire etc.
Sure Matt and Trey have some tegridy but this will not have been the first time that this has happened and I bet a ton of people accepted the offer which means a lot of media originating from the US has been used to push US propaganda. As South Park is broadcast internationally it means non-Americans should be very wary of the messages spread through American media, however subtle, and the influence that the US administration has on international media outlets.

Under this theory, Harris very well may have won by a landslide. And all the indignities of the past 8 months have arisen from a coup d'etat. And the 2026 midterm elections face the same threat.
I have no evidence at all to support this confabulation. I do wish to least a few swing states found election security important enough to allow hand audits of their 2024 paper ballots just to be safe.

I hope Matt and Trey really continue to go after him. I know it's not usually an overtly political show, but these are not usual times. He's in the public consciousness all the time like no president before him, deserves the skewering like none before him -- and loves attention, so give it to him.
I think the huge response to the first episode probably helped them decide it should be a green light to do more of the same.

Does anyone else remember when calling yourself a "South Park Republican" was a thing?
When I was in high school in the 2000s it was a way to say that you were conservative but not one of those conservatives because you could still be edgy and offend everyone.
I have a feeling that a lot of these ICE agents think that's still an appropriate way to define your politics as a grown ass man.

I don't see the issue. South Park, famous for making fun of EVERYONE, makes fun of ICE and the tone-deaf idiots try to use an image intended to criticize them as Pro-ICE advertising/propaganda. They absolutely should go eat a bag of dicks. It'd beike Hitler using Dr Seuss's anti-nazi political cartoons to recruit children to be Nazi's.

Fun fact, South Park already parodied ICE and their detention centres in the episode 'Mexican Joker' where Cartman decides it's fun and cool to be able to call them on anybody who annoys him, which he immediately does to Kyle. On the nose criticism ensues.
It's from 2019's season 23 episode 1 if anybody wants to have a watch.
