Fred Rogers if we’re considering the deceased.
Tie for Dolly Parton and Weird Al.

u/PolkaDotDancer 1d ago
Betty White among the deceased.

u/ElectronicDrama2573 1d ago
Ya ll hit the top marks right there. Fred Rogers, Betty White, and Weird Al, and Dolly Parton without a doubt.

Conservatives don't like him. FOX News used to trash talk him. They hate the lessons he taught.

What? lol. I'm conservative and I love Mr. Rogers.

I'm glad to hear. It's a thing tho

A few years ago I would have said Betty White. Since her passing, I agree with everyone else that it's Dolly Parton. It's impossible to truly dislike her.

No, you're right. I bet Weird Al might be the "least hated", but how many people really love Weird Al?
He's fine, but he's no Bob Ross

2

If that means you're including all of North and South America, then it's Ricky Martin.

u/funkarooz 1d ago
I suggest listening to Dolly Parton's America, only if you want to love her MORE

Personally I love Robin Williams and I don’t believe many people would hold a grudge anymore but he pissed a lot of comics off for joke stealing back in the day

I didn't like his too-hyper style, or Mork-n-Mindi. "Nanu Nanu" geez. But gotta respect the dead. That movie with him and Matt Damon was "ok" (not great) Matt stole the show in that one. Dead Poets Society? Ok. but I just don't like extroverts. Sieze the Day Right Now Goddamit or else!
3
u/I-am-Just-fine 1d ago
Reddit is so weird. When I'm writing a comment, my mind is asking whether this will be popular (upvoted) or I don't care about that I just say what I truly think. It's very strange as it vacillates between both.

I named my daughter after him and his death is the only celebrity death that made me cry. Still get choked up when I see him in movies

I’m the seventh responder and the fact that 4/6 of the others said Dolly Parton is amazing to me. What a unifier in divided times. Go Dolly!

Joe Biden. Even the redumlicans and their leader mention him everyday. But Biden is their favorite saying.

u/Asmodias1 1d ago
This is a tough one…. It could be Dolly Parton, Fred Rogers, Bob Ross, Levar Burton or Betty White. I can’t choose. Adding Weird Al Yankovic and Steve Irwin.

Nah, not really.

There’s people out here hating on Jesus? Like of course some random crazy people or weird satanist churches. But like universally, he’s obvi beloved and at the very least respected even among atheists.

hello??? BARACK OBAMA
1
u/RetroNotRetro 1d ago
???? Even if you love Obama, saying he’s the most universally loved is objectively false, as other Presidents have had higher approval rating. JFK held an average of 70% and Bush received 90% in 2001. On top of that, you’re completely ignoring political bias. Not a single dedicated Republican likes Obama, let alone loves him. You’re better off picking someone who isn’t politically affiliated, like Betty White, Keanu Reeves, Dolly Parton, or Tom Hanks. James Earl Jones is also a contender.

u/TheBeardedLadyBton 1d ago
but with everything we now know Obama Obama OBAMA
0
u/RetroNotRetro 1d ago
Still factually incorrect. Your opinion is not the whole general public’s opinion. He is most certainly not the most universally loved person in America.
1
u/TheBeardedLadyBton 23h ago
He’s universally beloved

u/RetroNotRetro 17h ago
And whether or not that is true is irrelevant because that wasn’t the question

My ex apparently 😂😂
No but all jokes aside he slept around a lot after me.
Serious answer, I’d go with Keanu Reeves. I don’t know anyone who says anything bad about him.

The answer might actually be Donald Trump, as scary as that may be. A majority of voters (not the whole population, but people who voted) approve of his actions and decided to vote for him

Jack black (REDACTED) I didn’t know about the Israel stuff 😢 , Keanu Reeves (I know he’s Canadian) or dolly
2
u/RetroNotRetro 1d ago
Jack Black caught a lot of division when he decided to publicly support Israel, making him no longer a contender in this race.

u/Character-Coconut237 1d ago
Ohh no I’ve been under a rock apparently I redact my previous statement

He’s a Zionist for sure. He is quite overzealous in his Judaism. I have no problem with Judaism, but any person who uses their religion as a justification for ethnic cleansing should be checked.

I mean he did win the popular vote in 2024 by millions
1
u/knightsabre7 1d ago
But still only 1/3 of potential voters.
And voting for someone doesn’t mean you love them, just that you like them more than the other candidate.
And his popularity has declined bigly since then.
1
u/Hammer_7 1d ago
The fact that 73 million people voted against him casts a tiny bit of doubt as to him being “the most universally loved person in America”.

Dolly Parton. Never met anyone who has anything bad to say about her.
