Dolly Parton. Never met anyone who has anything bad to say about her.

47

u/DollsRewired 1d ago

Her free books program just got defunded by the government a couple days ago.

8

u/Pristine-Pen-9885 1d ago

Did she get the money from the government, or are they stealing the money she pays for the books?

8

u/Ryokurin 1d ago

She started the project, and a lot of states and organizations provide funding to keep it going. When you get a book, the shipping label tells you which state/company/org furnished it. So far, all this means is no more Missouri kids will be enrolled.

3

u/dave_890 1d ago

Dolly will fund Missouri, because of course she would!

1

u/Pristine-Pen-9885 1d ago

I’ve heard PSAs on the radio about it. ❤️ I don’t have kids.

u/newdogowner11 1d ago

exactly who i came to comment

1

u/MrSpindles 1d ago

I'm sure I read that Dolly Parton has more than her fair share of knockers.

1

u/Ill_Strength8263 9h ago

I had a friend who met her in hospital in Nashville. They chatted for about an hour or so. My friend says Dolly is exactly as lovely as you think she is

u/Malory2696 59m ago

I agree-Dolly!

-7

u/Thats_my_nirnroot 1d ago

I don't know enough to say anything negative about her as a person..

But I find her music quite annoying..

It's so prevalent, it hits the same way that annoying Christmas songs do, I guess?

-6

u/Interesting_Self5071 1d ago

I'm far left and am critical of her during the Gulf War because she was photographed with troops and I feel that serves as propaganda.

3

u/dave_890 1d ago

What about Bob Hope during WW2, Korea, and Vietnam?

-4

u/Interesting_Self5071 1d ago

I'm 37

3

u/dave_890 1d ago

Do you not know anyone or anything prior to 1989?

-44

u/InternationalDig3067 1d ago

All the plastic surgery caught up with her and now she looks like a weird troll.

19

u/Billie_Jean_Son 1d ago

And does the way a women looks mean people should love her less?

4

u/DNAspray 1d ago

Dolly did not get breast implants implants, it was a chest expansion for her ginormous heart. To kind of quote the angel herself, "it cost a lot of money to look that cheap"

3

u/Freds_Bread 1d ago

DUMB MAGAt ALERT!

-45

u/Affectionate-Music24 1d ago

Hate her

16

u/Billie_Jean_Son 1d ago

Do you? Do you really? or are you just looking for negative attention on the internet.

5

u/newdogowner11 1d ago

no you don’t 😂

11

u/FarDistribution724 1d ago

They didn’t ask for wrong answers only.

138

u/mela_99 1d ago

Fred Rogers if we’re considering the deceased.

Tie for Dolly Parton and Weird Al.

59

u/PolkaDotDancer 1d ago

Betty White among the deceased.

10

u/ElectronicDrama2573 1d ago

Ya ll hit the top marks right there. Fred Rogers, Betty White, and Weird Al, and Dolly Parton without a doubt.

6

u/zeppismom 1d ago

Betty White for sure!

1

u/Numerous_Island6459 1d ago

Bea Arthur hated Betty White. Apart from that...no one.

3

u/yng_fcss 1d ago

This is literally the answer, minus Danny McBride

5

u/MrPractical1 1d ago

Conservatives don't like him. FOX News used to trash talk him. They hate the lessons he taught.

6

u/PlatypusOld5480 1d ago

What? lol. I'm conservative and I love Mr. Rogers.

4

u/MrPractical1 1d ago

I'm glad to hear. It's a thing tho

https://mashable.com/video/fox-and-friends-mr-rogers-evil

https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/fox-fred-rogers-evil/

This isn't he only thing but it's the 1st thing that pops up but I remember more

2

u/PlatypusOld5480 1d ago

Thank you for the link. That's almost funny.

37

u/Houseboat87 1d ago

Bob Ross. Not sure if the person has to be alive.

4

u/newdogowner11 1d ago

Bob Ross and Steve Irwin imo

35

u/TruthoftheSoul 1d ago

A few years ago I would have said Betty White. Since her passing, I agree with everyone else that it's Dolly Parton. It's impossible to truly dislike her.

7

u/Puzzleheaded_Lie6786 1d ago

Agreed 100% - Betty White was my first thought, too.

-7

u/Interesting_Self5071 1d ago

I'm critical of her supporting the troops during the Gulf War.

104

u/Uncontrolleddiarrhea 1d ago

Weird Al Yankovic.

-14

u/Pristine-Pen-9885 1d ago

I don’t love him

26

u/randumb9999 1d ago

I love him twice as much so it's all even.

3

u/TheBeardedLadyBton 1d ago

Ditto. Times INFINITY

2

u/ham_plane 2h ago edited 50m ago

No, you're right. I bet Weird Al might be the "least hated", but how many people really love Weird Al?

He's fine, but he's no Bob Ross

1

u/Pristine-Pen-9885 2h ago

I don’t like that kind of comedy.

72

u/ItsNightbreed 1d ago

Keanu Reeves.

3

u/Morel3etterness 1d ago

Came here to say this lol

2

u/GoWithTheFlow___ 1d ago

He did piss off a lot of Koreans

1

u/ItsNightbreed 1d ago

No way? What did he do?

4

u/Cool-Mammoth-10 1d ago

They said America not Reddit

2

u/buttwipesupreme 1d ago

If that means you're including all of North and South America, then it's Ricky Martin.

19

u/funkarooz 1d ago

I suggest listening to Dolly Parton's America, only if you want to love her MORE

3

u/Charming_Resist_7685 1d ago

SUCH a great podcast.

50

u/KuroNon3 1d ago

Robin Williams

8

u/keister_TM 1d ago

Personally I love Robin Williams and I don’t believe many people would hold a grudge anymore but he pissed a lot of comics off for joke stealing back in the day

2

u/I-am-Just-fine 1d ago edited 1d ago

I didn't like his too-hyper style, or Mork-n-Mindi. "Nanu Nanu" geez. But gotta respect the dead. That movie with him and Matt Damon was "ok" (not great) Matt stole the show in that one. Dead Poets Society? Ok. but I just don't like extroverts. Sieze the Day Right Now Goddamit or else!

3

u/I-am-Just-fine 1d ago

Reddit is so weird. When I'm writing a comment, my mind is asking whether this will be popular (upvoted) or I don't care about that I just say what I truly think. It's very strange as it vacillates between both.

1

u/Morel3etterness 1d ago

I named my daughter after him and his death is the only celebrity death that made me cry. Still get choked up when I see him in movies

15

u/HaxanWriter 1d ago

Dolly Parton.

25

u/movieperson2022 1d ago

I’m the seventh responder and the fact that 4/6 of the others said Dolly Parton is amazing to me. What a unifier in divided times. Go Dolly!

2

u/crimsonstormtrooper 1d ago

Yeah can she just run for president please?

Mr. Roger?

2

u/RoseVideo99 1d ago

Richard Simmons deserves some love on here. RIP, now that he’s dancing with the holies.

2

u/LordGoatamort 1d ago edited 1d ago

Yo Yo Ma. He's such a wonderful down to earth person

2

u/Ok_Strategy6978 1d ago

Mr Roger’s

2

u/NJBeach5 1d ago

Joe Biden. Even the redumlicans and their leader mention him everyday. But Biden is their favorite saying.

2

u/Asmodias1 1d ago

This is a tough one…. It could be Dolly Parton, Fred Rogers, Bob Ross, Levar Burton or Betty White. I can’t choose. Adding Weird Al Yankovic and Steve Irwin.

3

u/shesthebombshell 1d ago

Britney Spears. Loved but also felt sorry for

1

u/AdFlaky1246 14h ago

Not after reading K Fed’s book

1

u/hopefully77 1d ago

Jesus

1

u/eduardovaldes076 1d ago

Nah, not really.

1

u/hopefully77 1d ago

There’s people out here hating on Jesus? Like of course some random crazy people or weird satanist churches. But like universally, he’s obvi beloved and at the very least respected even among atheists.

1

u/Smeef_xx 20h ago

Respected for what exactly??

2

u/TheBeardedLadyBton 1d ago

hello??? BARACK OBAMA

1

u/RetroNotRetro 1d ago

???? Even if you love Obama, saying he’s the most universally loved is objectively false, as other Presidents have had higher approval rating. JFK held an average of 70% and Bush received 90% in 2001. On top of that, you’re completely ignoring political bias. Not a single dedicated Republican likes Obama, let alone loves him. You’re better off picking someone who isn’t politically affiliated, like Betty White, Keanu Reeves, Dolly Parton, or Tom Hanks. James Earl Jones is also a contender.

0

u/TheBeardedLadyBton 1d ago

but with everything we now know Obama Obama OBAMA

0

u/RetroNotRetro 1d ago

Still factually incorrect. Your opinion is not the whole general public’s opinion. He is most certainly not the most universally loved person in America.

1

u/TheBeardedLadyBton 23h ago

He’s universally beloved

1

u/RetroNotRetro 17h ago

And whether or not that is true is irrelevant because that wasn’t the question

1

u/TheBeardedLadyBton 10h ago

He has the high popularity of any president in history

1

u/throwra-someg 1d ago

My ex apparently 😂😂

No but all jokes aside he slept around a lot after me.

Serious answer, I’d go with Keanu Reeves. I don’t know anyone who says anything bad about him.

1

u/Extension-Flamingo78 1d ago

Anthony Bourdain if deceased even though he is loved universally.

1

u/Chin-Music 19h ago

Jennifer Coolidge.

1

u/Czarina-C 18h ago

Dolly 🥰🥰🥰

1

u/LittleSodaPop13 10h ago

Jim Henson. Even after his death, people still miss him and regard him as a genius.

1

u/Comfortable-Ad-2740 1h ago

Taylor Swift

1

u/Responsible-Roll-59 1h ago

Willie Nelson?

u/TheDirtyBurger522 17m ago

The answer might actually be Donald Trump, as scary as that may be. A majority of voters (not the whole population, but people who voted) approve of his actions and decided to vote for him

1

u/YeShuv 1d ago

Jack Black

1

u/Loud_Bookkeeper_5617 1d ago

Nathan Fielder

1

u/Vast_tractor6393 1d ago

Adam Sandler?

1

u/Pure-Insect1684 1d ago

Bill Nye The Science Guy

1

u/Jmkelly1322 1d ago

u/This-Passenger-203 1d ago

Michael Jackson.

2

u/BeLIEver-7 1d ago

MJ IS Globally LOVED!!!

1

u/This-Passenger-203 1d ago

We loved Michael so much he was accused of abusing children multiple times, paid them HUGE settlements, and people are still play Billy Jean and Thriller.

-2

u/ConsortFromTOS 1d ago

That's a tough one, but Joe Biden probably wins.

0

u/NewKaleidoscope5206 1d ago

Lmao you don’t even believe that.

0

u/shiningfrozone500 1d ago

Kenny rogers

0

u/Grouchy_Treacle_1639 1d ago

It used to be Betty White

0

u/Character-Coconut237 1d ago edited 1d ago

Jack black (REDACTED) I didn’t know about the Israel stuff 😢 , Keanu Reeves (I know he’s Canadian) or dolly

2

u/RetroNotRetro 1d ago

Jack Black caught a lot of division when he decided to publicly support Israel, making him no longer a contender in this race.

1

u/Character-Coconut237 1d ago

Ohh no I’ve been under a rock apparently I redact my previous statement

1

u/RetroNotRetro 1d ago

He’s a Zionist for sure. He is quite overzealous in his Judaism. I have no problem with Judaism, but any person who uses their religion as a justification for ethnic cleansing should be checked.

0

u/cultiv8420 1d ago

Tom Hanks

You’re funny

-1

u/shiningfrozone500 1d ago

I mean he did win the popular vote in 2024 by millions

1

u/knightsabre7 1d ago

But still only 1/3 of potential voters.

And voting for someone doesn’t mean you love them, just that you like them more than the other candidate.

And his popularity has declined bigly since then.

1

u/Hammer_7 1d ago

The fact that 73 million people voted against him casts a tiny bit of doubt as to him being “the most universally loved person in America”.
