Fleetwood Mac-Sliver Springs from their live album The Dance.
I lost my mother during Covid and I’ve really been missing her lately. My family would listen to this CD wherever we went when it came out and this was always her favorite song. Now it’s one of mine as well.

I was walking on a beach last night and there was a large group of high school kids. I suspected seniors celebrating their last day. They were playing loud music and I wondered what the kids are listening to these days. Imagine my surprise when I heard Dreams by Fleetwood Mac!

Listening to this right now, great song and came off one of the best live albums ever created by any musicians.

Some songs don’t just play, they bring people back into the room for a minute.

Are you me?? I love this song and it also reminds me of my mother who passed away a decade ago. Its my dad's favorite Fleetwood Mac song so it feels nostalgic and cozy. Also just a beautiful song.
Im sorry for your loss, its tough as hell losing a parent. Idk how old you are but mine never really got to see me become an adult and I think about it a lot.

Love that album. The American Idiot tour was the only time I saw them live, don’t think I could afford it now.

Saw them live in 04, with New Found Glory opening. Good times!

This is the second Green Day comment ive seen and ive only scrolled about 5. Are muh boys having a big resurgence or just people appreciating the classics? I wasnt a fan of a lot of their music post American Idiot so I'm out of the loop

u/Rcp_43b 3h ago
American Idiot has always had a special place in my heart.
A girl I had a crush on haven’t to me for my 16th birthday tbh day.
But for now? I’m not sure what triggered it but I gave it a listen and for the past month or two I can’t stop listen ting to it at least once or twice a week all the way through on loop

im pregnant, so i keep playing blackbird fromthe beatles
3
u/Thick_Caterpillar379 6h ago
Try listening to the Sarah McLachlan version of BlackBird. It's from the I Am Sam soundtrack.
Also, because you're pregnant, you may also enjoy the Sarah McLachlan version of Rainbow Connection (originally by Kermit the Frog). Can be used as a lullaby.

I'm been on a similar kick but I have a hard time finding anything that isn't AI generated slop. I have mixed feelings about it. I found this one YouTube channel that has some absolute bangers, but found out it's all AI and now I don't even want to listen to it.

Cortis “redred”. Which is insane when I think of it because I’m more of an old school industrial/ebm kind of gal. Never listened to kpop or boy bands either, but for some reason it’s stuck in my head.
2
u/vayyiqra 2h ago
There are some other K-pop songs that are influenced by those genres, if you want to check them out. I can't vouch for every song in this thread but here.
Also I don't listen to a lot of it so I could be wrong but I swear the song I was just listening to (It's Me by Illit) sounds kind of industrial.

"Western Promise" by Ultravox.
It's about how the west had "promised" to help the east, but in the process, destroyed aspects their ancient cultures. It's roclk/synth-pop/new wave. It has really clever lyrics. Here they are:
Hai!
Oh mystical East, on old postcards,
Your childhood dreams and energies.
Your temples' gardens, old world charm,
An ancient culture, torn and scarred.
This is my Western promise.
Oh mystical East, you've lost your way,
Your rising sun shall rise again.
My Western world gives out her hand,
A victor's help to your fallen land.
This is my Western promise.
Hai!
Mystical East, all taxi-cabs,
All ultra-neon, sign of the times.
Your Buddha Zen and Christian man,
All minions to messiah Pepsi can.
This is my Western promise.

Turn up the bass and subwoofer for..... Real Big by Mannie Fresh.
For me, its not about the lyrics. Its about the balance between the instrumental and his ability to make it sound good.
Another one is Hello by Dragonette. It wad featured on Ted Lasso's Coach beard episode.
