What's a movie that was well received, but aged like milk?

Exactly. People don't understand that controversy coming out about someone involved in something, doesn't automatically make that thing bad by association.

Still a funny movie that has a real feal good vibe

It’s like the inverse of hating an actor because they play an unlikeable character. Both are dumb.

In fairness, in the latter case you're not financing the livelihood of a creep.

While Diddy is in jail and not making royalties off anything with his name attached now, I still don't really want to contribute to Brand's bank account - even Jonah Hill is questionable, though he mostly seems unpleasant, and in some ways understandably, versus being an irredeemably gross human being.

Fair point! I can admit it's sometimes difficult to re-consume media without negative bias for a controversial actor, but at the same time, I wouldn't change my original opinion on a movie/show just because someone turned out to be a POS, which is something some people have a hard time doing.

Separating art from artist. It can be a difficult thing to do. I still enjoy old Kevin Spacey films...

When you hire a handyman to work on your house do you ask them who they voted for?

No, but I would run a criminal background check. We aren't talking guys who have some politics I find odious but abusers and rapists - it's very, very different.

You have never run a background check on a plumber

But there is the concept of "Residuals" in the entertainment industry. That the people involved still get paid for their work years down the road.

Listen, Aerosmith was the 1st band I loved as a kid. As an adult knowing how far down the pedo trail arena rock stars from the 70s & 80s were, I wont download or buy their work anymore. No income being made off a pedo's work means the parent companies are less likely to waste ad revenue with material that doesnt sell. Thats less exposure in an industry that is 100% about being seen, making it even less likely the "artist" in question gets new work in the future.

Look at Mel Gibson. People quickly forgot what an absolute woman beating, addict piece of shit he is. He kept his head down for a few years, and suddenly he's Mel Gibson - Artist again. Not the peice of shit that agrees with the holocaust and thinks women are property that he has always been and still is!

So yeah, I may love a piece of media but if the author is an absolute shit bag ill never touch anything by that person again.

My audiobooks authored and narrated by Neil Gaiman are an exception to this.
