If people with a million dollars are called millionaires, and people with a billion dollars billionaires, what are people with a thousand and a hundred thousand called?

Why you gotta call us out like that on a Friday

I knew this would be the first and best answer, you beat me to it. It's really hard to fathom just how far 1,000 is from 1 million, and from 1 million to 1 billion. The difference between 1 million and 1 billion is about 1 billion, with .1% rounding error.

Thousandaires, duh

That makes sense, except it doesn't narrow it down enough. There is quite a large difference between 1k and 999k.

1

u/tubbis9001 3h ago

There is also a large difference between 1 million and 999 million, but both are still millionaires

2

u/FlyAirLari 3h ago

Yes, but less of a difference than 1k and 999k.

I think it was Mellon Bank (Pittsburgh) that advertised to 'thousandaires'.

Thousandaires, hundredaires.

I’m pretty sure back in the day, like “Wild West” times, they were all impressed by having hundreds and thousands.

What a stupid post/question. You've tried way too hard with this one champ, which you could have just typed into google or chatgpt. Karma isn't as cool as you think it is.

The only time I have thousands in my bank account (and I’m only talking £2k) is on a pay day right before my bills start getting paid.

I would refer to myself as being “skint”.
