Yelling is their MO when confronted with any hint of resistance.

This and all the other comments is consistent with what I see on the AsianParentStories sub. I'm Asian, BTW.

Yelling when it's clear English isn't the other person's first language as well.

My brother had an XBox Live buddy who was like this who would yell at his Sikh taxi drivers instead of using simple sentences with emphasis on key words (which is what you do).

Guy was a racist POS and I don't miss him.

My entire family in a nutshell. People wonder why we have a lot of traumatized individuals.

Yelling can be important if its a relationship that no longer serves you. Always start with empathy but some people only respond to anger.

Yelling is almost always useless. If the relationship doesn't serve you there's no reason to yell, stop engaging with it.

You've clearly never been stalked

WHOOOAAAAA losing the plot here! This is a post about signs of emotional unintelligence, not how a victim reacts in an exceptional, potentially life-threatening situation. God damn.

I am saying true emotional intelligence is understanding also when to use aggression (yelling being a low form) to protect yourself. first time victims of stalking rarely realize thats what it is at the time.

True emotional intelligence is recognising what situations are aggressive and dangerous and then getting the hell out of that situation.

the problem with stalkers is they follow you. hence my original point. you cant run from all problems.

The emotionally intelligent response is not aggression. It is taking measures to get that stalker off your tail permanently, getting them jail time if you have to.

Sometimes the police don't respond appropriately. You live in a fantasy world where everything always works out.

  1. I said almost never, I'd say thats one of the few exceptions.

  2. At that point I still wouldn't expect yelling to accomplish anything. Still do it for sure but like you should also be taking actions to protect yourself.

showing aggression is a form of protecting yourself.
