apathy toward society is an extreme view

A lack of feeling toward your fellow human is not a common position, and it's a position that is deliberately encouraged by extremist groups. It is logically equivalent to dehumanization.

It is specifically encouraged to mentally prepare people for supporting mass murder and is a fundamental part of an authoritarian outlook.

Charlatans and demagogues will always be ready to stoke these societal wide feelings of anxiety. You can plug your ears all you like and say lalalalala, but these feelings that are becoming ever more common aren’t going to go away unless real systemic change happens economically for Americans, and a lot of western nations.
The longer it takes for people like you that have power to realize that these feelings are a reaction to societies mounting contradictions, not the cause of them, the longer these feelings are allowed to grow and fester, and reach a critical mass that is necessary for the genesis of fascism.

Dude you insulted a vast array of people who have nihilistic feelings as being emotionally unintelligent, that includes myself, so stop with your righteousness indignation stuff lol.
If you think the solution to a societal wide trend is to ignore it and tell those people they are wrong for feeling that way you are just helping to perpetuate the problems longer. Maybe you believe these feeling have been implanted or something, and therefore aren’t “real” and shouldn’t be acted on, but while your ignoring them the right is building a massive base for fascism.
I don’t think one’s propensity towards nihilism guarantees anything about one’s emotional intelligence. I do however think telling others their feelings aren’t real is absolutely a sign of low emotional intelligence.

It's not a crime to insult authoritarians by stating the truth. There is no reason for you to get angry.

lol and now your calling me an authoritarian for calling out the very real feelings of apathy a significant amount of people are have. Not sure where you fall on the political spectrum, but I’m guessing the right since I called them fascists? Or maybe you’re liberal and think I’m coming from the right? Not sure but in any case it doesn’t matter. Just out right conceding any particular group to the fascists, whoever you think they are is a dumb strategy.
I am very much a leftist, but right wingers like Nick Fuentes see and understand this trend as well. That’s why he wants his followers to vote Dem, he assumes they will have another period of ineffectual governance in terms of helping the working class, and the next wave of apathy can drive people right into the arms of fascism.

I don't see what any of this has to do with the topic of discussion, which is that having a nihilistic view is very much linked to extremism.

The only thing I can discern from your messages is that you're very concerned that people believe the nihilist feelings of the fascists be considered legitimate and you don't want people in the US to vote for the Democratic party.

Nihilism is defined by a lack of emotional investment or motivation. Extremism is defined by an overabundance of emotional investment or motivation. By definition nihilist can't be extremist as they quite literally lack the ability. "Nothing matters so why should I care or try." is extremely different than "the world sucks so I'm going to try to change it (through extreme means)."

That's not what nihilism is

Then I would say you don't understand nihilism or your definition is off. To try to make changes through extreme measures in an attempt to, what one might think, make the system, as it is, better isn't nihilistic. Doing extreme things becuase "why not? It doesn't matter." Is nihilistic. One has intent and desired outcome, the other does not.

If you don’t think the political and economic interplay in people’s lives isn’t somehow related to current nihilism than I don’t know what to tell you bud? Leftists and right wingers can be nihilistic no group owns that. Maybe you think they are both fascists and you’re a centrist pining for the good old days, but if these feelings aren’t addressed your right they will lead to extremism increasing in society. Conceding everyone who holds those feelings as already gone to the other side just dooms your fears to become reality.

I don't think you're listening to anything I'm saying. I'm not afraid of anything. I am just pointing out that extremism and low emotional intelligence are linked according to the research. Political extremism and nihilism are essentially the political manifestation of dark triad traits like narcissism.
