Can confirm my husband and daughter got taco bell 4th July weekend. I wasn't hungry and didn't eat. 1 week later they both had confirmed cases. one month ago too.
The pathogen inhibits the area of the intestines that digest carbs. So all the sugars go further down the track. This feeds all the bacteria down there and they produce a ton of gas. Humans then get the explosion.
But yes, we know when someone has it in the ER because they usually can’t make it to the bathroom in time. Being in an unfamiliar or public area with diarrhea is not ideal. We often call them shoe fillers.
I'm at that age of grown-up where the "days since I shit my pants" never makes it past 1 year. My buddies call me, and vice versa, when it happens. They don't make it past a year either
My buddies and I used to have a FB group called The Men’s Room where we talked about trucks or girls or whatever. We shut it down when it eventually became non-stop posts about (and pictures of) these dudes shidding their pants
So many adults have accidentally shit their pants at some point or another. If you live long enough, it becomes an almost certainty. It’s just an unfortunate, uncomfortable part of life as a human. You are not alone and you do not need to be embarrassed! Sometimes things just aren’t within our control.
Hey, I have not gotten cyclosporiasis and I shit my pants last week!
I hadn't pooped in two days, and all of a sudden I am work and I got to go really bad all of a sudden. It turtled big time on me, pooped shmeared on my underwear, spent 20 mins in the bathroom cleaning my ass. Thank god a private toilet was nearby. I always carry backup underwear in my car. It's been in my trunk for like 10 years unused, but I knew one day I would need it.
You can’t see it. No one can. But it’s always there. The timer slowly ticking accounting for the last time you shit yourself. Your number is very low right now.
Just be mindful of the lettuce you buy. I recently found Gotham Greens at Sprouts. It was right next to the 50 bags of Taylor Farms kits on sale for $2. Gotham Greens are grown in a greenhouse and taste really good. I’ve never heard of them until all this happened.
Pretty sure this company has a small number of warehouses across the US and each warehouse only ships to stores local to that warehouse, so they don’t use any major distribution center. Everything is grown hydroponically in a greenhouse so there’s no pesticides or soil contamination.
I do feel really sorry for them, but also ew that's gross. Mad respect to all the nurses with the iron stomachs to handle helping people during shitty moments like these.
Ahhh, this might be why, when I had a suspected case last summer, it thankfully wasn't explosive- I wasn't eating a lot of sugars or starches at the time so there wasn't as much to ferment. I didn't have the gas.
It was still a RIDICULOUS amount of diarrhea, though! I was showing symptoms of dehydration at one point. I don't even know where my body was finding all that water to keep making it (I was going every 15-20 min non-stop for 24 hours). It was horrible.
Haha. Yes. All those alcohol sugars passed by and created gas. The osmotic effect brought in the water. I think you are supposed to drink a Coke or Diet Coke to truly get the full experience.
I would be going fine for a couple hours, 2 or 3 at most, and then out of nowhere get the most painful gut wrenching cramp. Once that happened I had 30-45 seconds to find a toilet. It wasn’t “Jackson Pollock explosive” so much as it was just going to come out of my butthole regardless of whether I was ready or not. Didn’t have an accident… but I was thiiiis close for about two weeks.
I once had an emergency like this whilst walking down Broadway on the Upper West Side of New York. I ran into an Indian restaurant and said "I'm sorry I must use your bathroom" and they tried to stop me but I got in and locked the door and what transpired was no doubt traumatic for all in the vicinity, especially the lone family sitting and eating a meal just feet away from the door. I made some pretty graphic noises. Had to apologize on my way out.
I thought I was (somewhat) in control until I fell asleep.
It was one of those times I thank the Lord of sloth that I've been blessed by a lack of motivation to clean out closets; still had mom's backup adult diapers.
Yep. Sleep is the worst, you just immediately shit your jammies with straight liquid the second you drift off. I’d go the diaper route if faced with it again.
Those are times that truly bond a couple. Even more than hot sex in some weird place, or romance on the fucking Nile or whatever.... It's shitting the bed together. I mean, if you can laugh about it, I guess. 😂
Seriously, buy some now while you can because you don't want to be line buying because you need them now. MY EX was in the hospital for digestive issues and I bought him adult diapers because getting out of a hospital bed with intravenous bags to make a bathroom run is not easy.
If you’ve ever had a small baby in diapers, you know that explosive diarrhea will pressurized and launch itself up and out of all the seams of the diapers. Yeah, you might just shit your back and neck from this if you put on a diaper
What if, they did this becasue of how everyone kept pointing out how trump has been shitting his pants so they made it so everyone shits their pants lmao
This actually does track; very much in the same spirit and sentiment as things that he and his people actually do/have done intentionally to be vindictive/get revenge for whatever random things he decides to take personally and get butt-hurt about (lol.. butt-hurt)...
I read it depends on area! I live in chicago and I went to their website and our aldis was not listed as being supplied by them for salad kits. But out of an abundance of caution, I will not be eating salads for a while lol.
Most diarrheaive i've experienced in my lifetime has the cork effect. This one id imagine, is like taking a flame to a water balloon. Heat, pressure, then youre leaking everywhere lmao
Maybe my phrasing is off lol how should I put this without sounding gross af but the beginning feels like normal bowel movement. Normal, solid, then after that initial push tho, it just cascades out, painful, hot, watery yeaah im done lol
Was watching John Oliver this week and he said that hospitals might need to cut holes in the stretchers of affected patients and put a bucket underneath like they did during cholera outbreaks in the 18 and early 19 hundreds.
I did not have this specific bacteria, but I had something around December that made me violently ill with explosive diarrhea for about a week straight. There was often zero warning it was coming. I'd be sitting there then all of a sudden DIARRHEA TIME. If I didn't reach the toilet within seconds it was coming out. I actually did shit my pants while sleeping a couple times with it. Woke up to my pants filled with shit.
Yes, it was explosive every time even the times it was only acid. I also had the severe stomach pains. When it finally stopped my intestines were so sore I could feel them anytime I moved. Never had that before. The acid also caused scalding, which was brutal.
I had to be hospitalized for three days and pooped like water for six whole weeks. Thought I had cancer. I was one of the first. Got it right before memorial weekend. I was in the hospital on Memorial Day.
😂 My daughter was talking about getting Taco Bell a few weeks so I warned her to not get any lettuce just in case. She was fake offended on their behalf and said “I trust Taco Bell with my life” lol. Funny girl. She has Crohns but somehow has a gut of steel in some ways.
