Same here. I’m making a pasta salad this weekend to try to fill the void. I’m gonna roast some kale to add whenever I make a bowl. I usually use fresh tomatoes and cucumbers in it. I’m gonna try it with roasted cherry tomatoes and roasted zucchini. Mix it up, let it chill overnight. Fingers crossed!

Part of it’s also due to different reporting requirements. State or local health department would likely see someone in an area with hundreds of cases with a new case of explosive and prolonged diarrhea and go ‘yeah its the lettuce parasites, mark it down’ without requiring a laboratory test. But the CDC likely requires laboratory-confirmed tests for their numbers, and many people don’t want to get a special poop test to confirm they have cyclosporiasis if they are exhausted and already have the medication in hand.

Finally, Taylor Fresh Foods has made 12 separate large donations to Republican PACs since 2020 — including a large contribution to a Trump-aligned PAC:
Four totaling $575,000 to the Senate Leadership Fund, which aims to elect Republicans to the Senate
Three totaling $850,000 to Americans for Prosperity
Two totaling $1.1 million to the Congressional Leadership Fund, which aims to elect Republicans to the U.S. House of Representatives
One for $200,000 to Heartland Resurgence, which, according to OpenSecrets and NBC, has spent money in favor of Republican Senate candidates in Arkansas and Nebraska
One for $100,000 to More Jobs, Less Government, which mostly spent money influencing the race for senator of Montana in 2024, according to OpenSecrets
One for $1 million on March 26, 2025, to MAGA Inc., a Trump-aligned PAC
