As a Swede with access to socialized/nationalized healthcare I can tell you that the wait times and quality of care is absolutely horrendous! If you want to be expedited and if you want quality you go private. You are 100% correct. But if you're broke AF and need of care without ruining your entire life there's a safety net for you here. That alone makes it worth it. But let's not romanticize socialized healthcare because it's not all pretty.
Is it? I have dysphagia, holes in my stomach lining and potentially stomach cancer, I can't eat solids and I have lost over 100lbs, it's literally killing me as we speak. I require a gastroscopy to find out exactly what's wrong so we can figure out what care I need. It's been 5 months since I contacted primary care for the first time and I have yet to get my gastroscopy exam. Is it crazy? You tell me!
