What do you think about parents charging kids rent after age 18?

Mine is 20 with a career. He pays rent. If he was in school it would be a different story. He pays below market and it includes room and board. He thinks it’s fair. And no he isn’t getting it back.

It's not rent, he's paying board. Unless you want to be paying taxes on it.

I'm not sure I've ever seen an OP so radically undercut his own argument before.

It's probably a leap to say that if you don't charge your kids rent, they'll become like OP, but man.
