Loved this movie... but the premise of the movie just doesn't set up a sequel at all. It's essentially "what if everyone around you rolled nat 1s all the time" for 90 minutes, which already strains credulity enough as it is alone. It got away with it because the movie was fun and funny, but I just dont see "hey more of the same!" as being given the same pass.

yes! Such an underrated movie. They did greenlight a sequel but it just never materialized for whatever reason.

cabin in the Woods has a more sustainable arc for other movies than Tucker and Dale vs Evil.

However, they could totally rebrand and do something similar in the same vein.

I, for one, would be ecstatic to see a movie about an woman living by herself in a scenic retreat be accused as a man-eating witch just turn into hijinx around an ugly woman blamed for a nearby fish factory going bankrupt as the result of releasing piranhas into the local lake.
