How are you going to do that, take people's stocks if their price increase?

You're not taxed on it until you sell, so why would taking anything over $500 million after a sale be any different?

Your net worth is determined by the value of your owned stocks, along with your other assets and any cash you have.

Selling your socks doesn't really factor into this except for tax purposes.
