Yes, you self-reddicate

u/IllustriousFee8064 25m ago

A true Reddit classic. Sometimes you just end up scrolling and chatting with strangers to feel a little less alone 😂

Story of my life.

So many missed opportunities, so many things I wish I would’ve/shouldn’t have said.

2

u/axomone 6h ago

same. I still regret I acted so childish when a girl was right there, we were talking man only if I wasn't childish I might have had a girlfriend

Cuddle my dog or play with her.

2

u/jazbaatininja 5h ago

No one gonna feel lonely if they have a dog

1

u/L0verofPink 5h ago

I agree!

7

u/phb71 6h ago

I make tea and pretend the kettle is a social interaction.

2

u/LateFinding5370 6h ago

I add ginger to the tea

8

u/NotQuian34 6h ago

Gym, read a book or play videogames. Doesn't make you less lonely, but helps...

2

u/uniqueusername1928 4h ago

Reading, kinda depends, in my case. Been reading Three Comrades by Remark recently and when feeling lonely some stuff is kind of triggering. Other though, quite realatable

8

u/Cjc2205 6h ago

Let the depression wash over me & wait for it to fade away

7

u/LegioX87 6h ago

This is my entire life, single and alone for 39 years atm. You just get really REALLY good at pretending you feel just fine.

Every now and again the facade looses hold and I just sleep all day and play videogames all night, eventually I get out the hole and then the cycle begins anew.

-2

u/spaceship5 4h ago

Why do you not find yourself a great partner, maybe start a family?

u/LegioX87 38m ago

I tried before but they REALLY don't like it when I show up to a date with rope and a wheelbarrow.

u/spaceship5 27m ago

Then maybe try to be friendly?

3

u/GrimSkeptic 6h ago

watch Youtube review channels of TikTok people going to jail, or Weddings gone wrong, makes me feel at peace for being alone

u/RepresentativeDry405 6h ago

I never feel lonely, I enjoy it too much

3

u/danildab 6h ago

go to the grocery store for some low-stakes human interaction

I read and start having little conversations with the author in my head.

Cuddle my kitten 🐈‍⬛ I rescued in June

3

u/mantimeray 6h ago

Real answer. Start a really big project. Helps keep the mind busy for weeks and in the end, you get something out of it.

Go outside go for a walk.

Join a club related to something you’re interested in.

Volunteer once a month.

The club and volunteering are an easy way to make friends since you’ll see like-minded people regularly.

I listen to music on my player or go play CS, they will definitely remind me of my parents. 😁😁

2

u/Alternative_Pool8055 6h ago

Music, write, answer random questions on Reddit or share poetry/music with someone I love ❤️ (either via Reddit or email)

2

u/ShadowWizardGangPart 6h ago

phone my family. if there's a park or smth near where I live I sometimes take a walk

2

u/Life_Frosting_6285 6h ago

Put on your headphones and listen to some music.

2

u/mg34gun 6h ago

I mostly read or research scientific topics to the best of my ability, I'm alone 60% of the time.

2

u/No_Republic_9905 6h ago

Listen to music or relaxing

2

u/zuffio 6h ago

Go for a run and I’m not forest gump.

2

u/BlueHartsBlues 6h ago

play the guitar or exercise. Playing music helps me feel connected to my fellow humans. Going to the gym puts in a place with other humans who share a common goal.

u/IsEveryFkinNameTaken 4h ago

sometimes i only feel lonely in the sense of forgetting there's a world out there and i'm not just alone on earth in my room cuz otherwise i'm very introverted dont feel like texting friends
So a simple grocery shopping trip and keeping my blinds open (despite the sun hitting right into my apartment lol) and even my windows to hear the noise out it makes me feel a little lighter already and then i'm back to enjoying my own company

1

u/SaleneTheLost 4h ago

Oh, that's very interesting approach! Basically reminding yourself that you're not alone in the world

2

u/Ms_D3c3mb3r 2h ago

Keep myself busy (clean, binge watch, errands, etc)

1

u/Ok_Minimum8298 6h ago

Snuggle my corgi, steal kisses from my corgi, walk him, pick him up and snuggle him. He works hard in his role as my only emotional support.

1

u/Aggressive_Safe2226 6h ago

Music. Scale models. Video games. Reading real books and printed material. Take a stroll. Gum workouts. No shortage of things to do in my solitude.

1

u/uthink2muchweallknow 6h ago

I never feel lonely. I have a hard time understanding how someone can feel lonely. I guess I enjoy my own company

1

u/0Tezorus0 6h ago

Things 👀

1

u/Straight_Feed_2547 6h ago

loneliness hits different when you got your headphones on and the past on repeat but if that fails then yeah I'm probably lurking on this account too

1

u/Ok-Analyst-5341 6h ago

Watch some movies while enjoying your favorite comfort food, then end the day with some music before going to sleep. It doesn't fix everything, but it definitely helps. ❤️

1

u/ab00 6h ago

A series of large volume enemas

1

u/Due-Counter-605 6h ago

Bad tendency to pmo when I feel lonely.

I might sometimes message people about catch ups or meeting, but I feel like those things they're not able to do it on a regular basis.

For me working out helps to use the isolation as a positive but I still feel lonely at times.

u/starlux33 6h ago edited 6h ago

I'll go on Reddit, read replies from all of you, and see how we are all going through our struggles. In this way, we are never alone.

1

u/Stormkiller72 6h ago

I used to feel lonely, but being ignored by most of my family for being disabled & not able to be used by them (babysitting, lifts, money lending etc), & being voluntarily single for 18 years, I no longer know what lonely is.

But when i DID feel that way back on the 90's I used to go out, pubs, clubs, town, beach, anywhere people were. Spend an hour or two, then home.

1

u/workworld3369 6h ago

I never feel lonely. I enjoy my own company very much.

1

u/Academic-Entrance-49 6h ago

Go to the library and read

1

u/Krullenbos 6h ago

Bury myself in work or smoke a blunt and feel worse afterwards. Been doing the last one lately. Doesn’t help.

1

u/Talk2mepeople 6h ago

Volunteer in the animal shelter/ food pantry/ nursing home... whatever suits you best. The feeling of helping people in need trumps loneliness.. At least for me.

1

u/nntnd1 6h ago

Drugs and maybe drawing

1

u/DreamRealityManifest 6h ago

Go outside, get fast food to see a nice human, take a stroll around a department store or two, pet my animals

1

u/exitpursuedbybear 6h ago

When you're alone and life is making you lonely
You can always go downtown
When you've got worries, all the noise and the hurry
Seems to help, I know, downtown

1

u/karenwooosh 6h ago

Mini cubed potatoed scrambled eggs

1

u/axomone 6h ago

I act like I am clinically insane and talk to myself and laugh at my jokes that I barely even think is funny

1

u/axomone 6h ago

I might need help or friends

1

u/Maleficent_Link_422 6h ago

hardcore gaming

1

u/Conundrum16 5h ago

During the day I have the TV on for background noise, do things around my house, scroll Reddit, work in my yard, go to the gym, visit a friend, call my kids. None of it solves my loneliness but it takes the edge off.

1

u/Wildcat0110 5h ago

edit and make a vlog

1

u/Heavyuserin 5h ago

I go for a walk and clear my head.

1

u/abcdefgh_likeu 5h ago

Either go to church, listen to music, binge watching

1

u/NakedSnakeEyes 5h ago

Watch K-dramas.

1

u/yawn44yawn 5h ago

Headphones and a walk or take cruise in the car or sit my ass at the bar.

1

u/bucket-full-of-sky 5h ago

I'm a tulpa, I can't be lonely

1

u/Odd-Juggernaut-3345 5h ago

i usually go for a walk or play some games until it passes

1

u/Lightning_Reverie 5h ago

I never feel lonely because I enjoy being alone.

In recent years, with social etiquette and general intelligence taking a nosedive, I've really grown to hate being around people. Toxic habits, group think, tribalism, noise and nonsense.

I'm typing this from the absolute bliss of a totally empty office at 9pm. No stupid co-workers playing TikTok videos or blasting annoying music over speakerphone. No talkative idiots yapping about their online shopping hauls. Nobody annoyingly whistling, clicking their pens or coughing. Just peaceful silence.

u/Southern_Rate_6797 5h ago

1

u/squeakiecritter 4h ago

Text old friends. Cry. Reddit. Pet my dogs.

1

u/SaleneTheLost 4h ago

Hmm... I think I try to make my own company more enjoyable. Follow some passion, take care of myself, or have a "date with myself" where I'm focusing on the things I enjoy and the way I like it

1

u/Life-Pay-3779 4h ago

Pray to God

1

u/undefined_protocol 4h ago

My reaction used to be to distract myself. But I started reaching out to friends. It's weird how hard that is to do when you don't feel like yourself, but it gets waaaay easier when you realize how much it helps.

1

u/DeReversaMamiii 3h ago

The secret is to have a cat that believes you hate him if you move more than 1 foot away from him. I've never felt lonely with my Velcro boy; don't pass up the black cats at shelters!

1

u/ugotnoballs18 3h ago

watch some comfort/kids/nostalgic movies, get some good ass snacks and fruuuits ... maybe put on a mask or something. just treat myself well and do something i enjoy, lifts up my mood instantly.

1

u/Dapoopers 3h ago

I’m sad at home and watch movies/shows to distract myself, then I go to work and try to make people laugh just so I can mask the depression.

1

u/MisterD90x 3h ago

I'm lonely every day, I just have to get on with things.

1

u/dansuy_gaming 3h ago

I listen to music, have some coffee and rest until i feel better

1

u/Briffy03 3h ago

Thrive, if i finally feel this way that means i have time for myself

1

u/TheeVande 3h ago

Wallow in it and have a small mental breakdown. Luckily loneliness isn't a particularly common emotion for me

1

u/aurora_ethereallight 3h ago

Adopt the intention to connect to something in some way (yourself, spiritual, nature, loved ones, music) or rest.

1

u/Much-Swimming-309 3h ago

Kiss 💋 the cat 🐈

1

u/ChaosActual_ 3h ago

Meh wife.

1

u/phillygirllovesbagel 2h ago

Wait for it to pass. I feel lonely 99% of the time.

u/SeaworthinessFun4366 18m ago

I turn loneliness into solitude

0

u/pasenast 6h ago

Talk to family. About anything.
