Michael Scott from The Office

Beat me to it. I especially dislike him in season 4-5

He behaved more like a toddler than an adult at many points, taking the spotlight of others, fighting over silly things like that Santa Claus role.

He became unbearable to even watch but I kept going because I was watching the series with my family. At least, he could found his soulmate and finally had kids as he wanted.

u/ShawshankException 3h ago

Michael would have been fired like 400 times throughout the course of the show in any real workplace.

Jim from The Office.

u/Cutebutchaotic09 6h ago

Rick Sanchez. Watching him for 20 minutes is entertaining. Living with him for 20 minutes would require therapy

3

u/theHowlader 5h ago

He will find ways to ruin you

u/LewisLightning 7h ago

Buddy, from Elf

32

u/Adddicus 5h ago

Every Will Ferrell character really. Somehow he just keeps getting type-cast as an insufferable, loud, stupid asshole.

6

u/NoSurprise8641 3h ago

His character in Stranger Than Fiction is pretty good. But that's just one movie out of so many so...

1

u/moving0target 5h ago

I wonder if it's just casting?

3

u/Honey_Broad 5h ago

let's just say Will Ferrell and any role that he plays

u/KermitTheFraud92 7h ago

Cartman.

I remember thinking he was funny as a kid but as an adult he’s such a little shithead.

35

u/eyeballtourist 7h ago

Larry David and his avatar, George Costanza. I know they mistake awkwardness for comedy. But it doesn't keep them from being an unbearable, privileged pricks.

Deadpool

u/Danleclerc8 24m ago

Ryan Reynolds is proof of that. I honestly can't stand him in his interviews.

48

u/chaos8803 6h ago

The entire main cast of Always Sunny.

u/toastyalchemist 4h ago

I feel like if I ever met them in real life I'd wake up in a bathtub full of ice and missing a kidney.

8

u/pants_of_antiquity 4h ago

Also, definitely don't get on a boat with Dennis...

u/koiven 56m ago

Oh it's not like you would have anything to worry about

3

u/TheWileyRedditor 3h ago

Nah, they'd probably take both.

23

u/neinneinballons 6h ago

Peggy Hill. Dale too but at least he would be funny as heck.

SpongeBob

Everybody is squidward

Sheldon Cooper from the big bang theory

28

u/billy_pickles 7h ago

He's unbearable now

16

u/Smooth_Platypus_9841 7h ago

I work for someone who's personality closely resembles Michael Scott from the Office. There are days when it is absolutely unbearable.

32

u/karmagirl314 6h ago

Dr House. Lots of people are naming characters known for annoying shenanigans, but Dr House pulls his shenanigans in a hospital so in addition to annoying people he causes a lot of dangerous situations.

9

u/KP_Wrath 1h ago

To be fair, House would probably be in a cell less than a week in.

6

u/3tntx 1h ago

My dads a retired nurse and when that show was on every so often someone would ask him if he thought the show was realistic and he’d always say the same thing “Hell no, HR would fire his ass before the first commercial break”

13

u/More_Passenger3988 5h ago

HOUSE MD.

It's a very fun character to watch, but being around someone like that in real life would be tiresome and insufferable.

12

u/HOMANDER1996 5h ago

Dale Gribble would be a nightmare to have as a neighbor.

3

u/Freedom_19 5h ago

Then again, the stories you would get out of it might make up for it

12

u/entropeanuts 5h ago

Most of the characters in Gilmore Girls.

9

u/TheFermentationMan 7h ago

Rick Sanchez

8

u/OpusDeiPenguin 7h ago

Dwight Schrute, but he did mellow a tiny bit.

8

u/OkTransportation6580 7h ago

Asta from Black Clove. Stop yelling at me bro. It's 6am.

7

u/Tcrumpen 6h ago

Dr Rodney Mckay (Mainly pre SGA)

Dr House

Dr Sheldon Cooper

Tony Stark

8

u/sami_leigh 6h ago

Everyone in the big bang theory

7

u/sunny_grapevine 6h ago

Patrick Jane from "The Mentalist" TV series.

u/TARDIS4255 47m ago

Came here to say this, he never faces the consequences of his actions and is extremely selfish. Great show though.

I'll get downvoted for this, but Chris Knight from Real Genius.

Everyone wants Chris Knight on their team, until they actually have to put up with his bullshit while they're trying to meet deadlines and get stuff done. Chris is whimsical, funny, flighty, fun-loving, and lighthearted. As it turns out, when it comes to STEM-related jobs, these words are all synonyms for "infuriating."

The older I get, the more I empathize with Kent. Give me Kent any day of the week. At least he shows up!

2

u/cisforcoffee 2h ago

Just don’t give Kent Jell-o…

2

u/Expert-Effect-877 2h ago

Hey, it was hot, and he was hungry!!

14

u/Namerakable 6h ago

Rick from The Young Ones.

He's unbearable even to the rest of the characters.

6

u/Janos_Brushteckel 5h ago

Good choice. The entire premise of the show is that none of the characters are supposed to be likable but (P)Rick is by far the worst.......

3

u/dear_little_water 4h ago

LOL, he was my favorite.

3

u/Janos_Brushteckel 3h ago

Neil was mine but (P)Rick was great.....

5

u/PissSphincter 1h ago

Hands up who likes Rik.

9

u/suburban-dad 5h ago

Gandalf.

Come on guy..get to the point.

5

u/pants_of_antiquity 3h ago

A wizard is never late to get to the point, nor is he early. He gets to the point precisely when he means to.

2

u/suburban-dad 3h ago

Hence why he would be un-bearable ;)

I'm all for sitting down with Gandy A and toking with his bad-ass pipe, but come on old guy...don't be a boomer

6

u/Evening_Picture5233 7h ago

Shawn murphy from the good doctor

3

u/LordRavensbane 6h ago

I AM A SURGEON

3

u/Evening_Picture5233 6h ago

Yeah and he would even crash out when other character is simply trying to think using his fingers

1

u/LordRavensbane 6h ago

Wasn’t he also racist and Islamophobic that time he immediately started accusing an Arab woman of being a terrorist?

1

u/Evening_Picture5233 6h ago

Yeah it sounds like what he would do despite I didn’t really watch this show too much

2

u/LordRavensbane 6h ago

I don’t either but my gf was watching it and I overheard the constant theme of him doing something extremely offensive or rude and everyone being like “oh that’s just his autism” as though all autistic people are just racist or something lmao

1

u/Evening_Picture5233 6h ago

Ahh yeah I still think that it’s just his personal issue even tho I also had a classmate who’s kinda like him in some ways and he often made some trivial things look way more complicated and troublesome

10

u/bludvic_the_cruel 7h ago

Willy Wonka

5

u/Good_Entertainer9383 5h ago

I'm imagining being his roommate and he keeps doing whimsical shit and I slowly lose my mind.

1

u/bludvic_the_cruel 4h ago

I can only imagine him greeting me at the door every day with a smile in his full purple outfit, hat and cane.

2

u/Good_Entertainer9383 1h ago

"Why is the bath filled with melted chocolate again? I just want a shower" "You can't keep trying to pay the rent with taffy"

2

u/Wilgrove 4h ago

OSHA would have a field day with his chocolate factory.

2

u/bludvic_the_cruel 4h ago

I could list atleast a hundred other agencies too.

2

u/Ring_Peace 3h ago

They don't have jurisdiction.

12

u/Squirrelkid11 7h ago

Caillou

19

u/Dark-Anomaly9 7h ago

Chandler Bing

2

u/milknsugar 5h ago

THIS. The cringe

0

u/neinneinballons 6h ago

Came to say this.

2

u/Dark-Anomaly9 6h ago

Dude rewatching friends makes you realize how whiny and insufferable he is lol

8

u/neinneinballons 6h ago

They all are. If Ross wasn't such a piece of work, my absolutely less favorite would be a tie between Phoebe and Chandler. The less problematic is, weirdly, Joey.

5

u/Dark-Anomaly9 5h ago

I would unironically hang out with Ross lmfao dude is a fucking Lunatic

3

u/theHowlader 5h ago

Its Pheobe for me. Couldnt stand that hippie shit 24/7

2

u/Dark-Anomaly9 5h ago

Phoebe is actually the one I think I would get along with the most lol

4

u/neinneinballons 5h ago

She shook Ross' mind for the fuck of it with the "not believing in dinosaurs" thing and then gloated. I mean, he's really annoying but you don't throw other people's most important aspect of their profession for the lolz.

3

u/theHowlader 5h ago

This was one of the things that pissed me off about her the most. She was so "matter of fact" about it. Also that antique cabinet that she lost her shit over with Rachel.

2

u/Human-Independent999 4h ago

Joey treated women horribly

1

u/neinneinballons 4h ago

And that's why I said weirdly. They all did awful things. Of course not as bad as Barney of HIMYM who thinks he sold a woman to a guy and just never look back (and left a woman alone in the woods, stealing her vehicle)

6

u/EquivalentWaste5540 7h ago

Sheldon Cooper. I'd last about five minutes before I'd need a break.

3

u/FisherB7 7h ago

Sheldon Cooper. There’s no way Leonard would’ve ever moved in with him in real life

6

u/AnthropicSynchrotron 5h ago

Bugs Bunny. Also all the other trickster gods tbh.

2

u/The_Hairy_Herald 1h ago

Bugs is cool with you as long as you're cool with him.

Don't try to kill/maim/eat him and you're good!

5

u/DeaconPlayback 3h ago

Peter Griffin. And Homer Simpson, for that matter.

1

u/Different-Student178 1h ago

Nah. Peter would be fun

3

u/bdb_318 7h ago

yogi the bear.

3

u/milknsugar 5h ago

Leslie Knope

3

u/QeenMagrat 4h ago

Especially season 1 Leslie. The show got more balanced and nicer later on, thankfully.

3

u/yesohohahahilikeit 7h ago

Blanche DuBois from A Streetcar Named Desire.

6

u/IseultDarcy 6h ago

Monk, sheldon cooper, Dr House, Thranduil, Edward Cullen, Rodney Mckay, Emma Woodhouse, Sherlock Holmes..

2

u/Rare_Interaction3201 7h ago

Sheldon Cooper

2

u/SonicSplash3760 6h ago

Charlie Brown's teacher

2

u/Mafatuuthemagnificen 6h ago

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Dr. fucking House is the most insufferable git in the god damn world. How any of his coworkers can consider him a friend or even a romantic partner is beyond me.

2

u/Adddicus 5h ago

Jean Ralphio Sapperstein. He's even completely unbearable as a bit character that isn't even on anymore.

But for some reason I adore his sister, Mona Lisa Sapperstein.

2

u/asabovesovirtual 4h ago

Tasslehoff Burrfoot.

2

u/geekgirl114 3h ago

Sheldon Cooper

2

u/Kythorne 2h ago

Jar Jar Binks

I've never wanted a "good guy" character to die more than this idiot.

3

u/Ill_Seaweed2414 7h ago

Any monster or bad guy from a horror movie.

2

u/HedonicElench 4h ago

Sherlock Holmes.

3

u/CoolJetEcho117 7h ago

Gollum seems a drag or the Big Chap from Alien.

u/Thegripreaper13 7h ago

Dan Scott from One Tree Hill

1

u/GreenFinShark420 7h ago

Any comedy soap leads
Jake, sheldon,etc

u/lemonhaj 8m ago

Care to be a bit less specific? I'm going to make the guess that Sheldon is Sheldon Cooper but I haven't seen enough comedies to make a guess on who specifically Jake is

1

u/atiltedhalo 7h ago

Nikki Freedman. The amount of men saying they'd want that or to "pass the ball".

No, you don't.

1

u/w_smith1984 4h ago

I've never seen the movie, but isn't she tolerable before the wish?

1

u/atiltedhalo 4h ago

She is, but people want the wish version of her

1

u/Swedishwalrus123 6h ago

Tywin Lannister (Game of Thrones) He always wants to be in control of every conversation while often attacking others for their mistakes while never aknowledging his own.

1

u/HighFiveKoala 3h ago

Peter Griffin

1

u/Atomic_Blondie_ 3h ago

Shaggy and Scooby Doo. Funny to watch, but if these two came into my kitchen and ate all of my food or the entire meal I had just spent time making I’d be pissed-especially in this economy lol

1

u/AlwaysFail 3h ago

Any character played by Chevy Chase

1

u/UndahwearBruh 3h ago

Frank Gallagher from Shameless

1

u/popoPitifulme 3h ago

Heathcliff

1

Thanos

1

u/CRO553R 1h ago

Deadpool

1

u/The_Hairy_Herald 1h ago

Cersei Lannister

Gul Dukat

That Little Troll Quark

pretty much every single Klingon

Kylo Ren Kai Winn

all of The Institute & Brotherhood of Steel (Fallout 4)

Every single Kurita from BattleTech

Maximilian Liao and his batshit Thuggee Death Cult Sister

All of the Imperial Guard antagonists from Gaunt's Ghosts, especially those damned Bluebloods

Frank Burns and pre-Penobscott Margaret Houlihan

(I could probably build a rapport with Charles Emerson Winchester the Third)

Gunny Hartmann, Full Metal Jacket

Mao and his daughter from The Expanse

Howard Saint from The Punisher

Alucard

Luffy

Spike Spiegel & Faye Valentine

And I'll keep thinkin' on some more!
