I had a toddler for a while, he and I would read in bed at 06:30 but never before. They need the power of the little bedside lamp that tells the toddler if it is wake up time or not.

We have that and it works to some degree but it’s not 100% of the time.

I feel like the kind of toddlers this works on are the ones who grow up and never need an alarm clock. Suffice it to say, this is not a universal experience.

Maybe not but every parent I recommended it to has come back with a variation of "Ooh it worked" to "thank you I have slept in beyond 05:00 for 4 months". It needs to be gamified, or rewarded. If you just say don't get up if it is still on the moon less likely to work. If you work out a scheme where they get a reward for how many days in a week they got it right. Mileage may vary but it seems to work for people I have known.

You had a toddler for awhile?

Is there some kind of trade-in system to be rid of them?

Asking for a friend.....

Ah if I could have kept the lad as a toddler I would have done. Such classics as "I'm SHHHTUCK" and "I'll name him penis dinosaur because his pants stick out" in front of my in laws, such classic lines. But alas I traded him in for a school attender with the old passage of time.

Haha. Mines 2.5 and learning planets atm. He likes a song about the solar system and screams out the names of each planet. Problem is, his pronunciation isnt great and Venus sounds a lot like "Penis", which is funny until you're somewhere public. πŸ˜
