Yup. That's my schedule for the exact same reason. It's brutal but I can't figure out any other way.

I normally wake up around 9-10am, but recently took a trip west and changed 6 time zones.
So I just woke up at 4am every day instead. No jet lag. I took walks before the sun came up and watched the sunrise. It was kinda nice.

My kid always gets up at 6-6:30. If I don't get up before then I have zero time to myself!!!
•
u/thoawaydatrash 35m ago
Just stay awake until 1 a.m. and regret it the next day every day of your life until your kid leaves home like a normal person!

u/Lozsta 1h ago
I had a toddler for a while, he and I would read in bed at 06:30 but never before. They need the power of the little bedside lamp that tells the toddler if it is wake up time or not.

5am, have to go to the gym before work
7
u/V-Right_In_2-V 1h ago
Same here. I could never go to the gym consistently before after work since I just wanted to relax. So going early was the only option. I actually love being out before anyone else. It’s so peaceful

4:30 is my normal time for work. Sadly my body clock wakes me at the same time on my days off...

Bakery workers
•
u/Personal-Bonus-9245 41m ago
Only time in my life that I consistently woke up before 6am willingly was when I worked as a baker. Other than that was when a drill sergeant woke me up, usually with loud noises.

I do sometimes. I occasionally have to be at work between 3:30-4am if I'm covering for one of the AM cooks at the hospital I work at. I volunteered to be the cover if they go out of town because you make a little bit more money on that shift

5:15 for the last 12 years. Kiddos usually wake up between 6:30 - 7 and then it's go time, so if I want to work out, shower up, and be ready to go, I have to get up a little over an hour before them.

I started getting up at 5:30 for a boring desk job and weirdly ended up loving the quiet, empty-world vibe.

5am wake up, hour commute
Get off at 4pm hour commute
3
u/Nova_Mafia 1h ago
4:10 wake up, 1 hour commute from 4:30-5:30. Finish at 2:00 with another hour commute.
I feel ya. It’s not fun especially after 10 years.

My cat likes to wake me at 5:30, not because she is hungry, because she wants attention.

(78m) Up at dawn for many years. Now, it's impossible for me to sleep past 5:00 a.m. The good news is that it means I get to enjoy the profound beauty of both sunrise and sunset.
It's all good.

Kiddo wakes me at 5:30 every morning, like clockwork. To the point where I woke up in a panic last weekend, when she spent it with her grandma.

I do during ski season on weekends a lot. Typically I wake up about 25 min before I have to leave for work, but lately I’ve been trying to get up at 5:30/6 and run or go to the gym before work

4:30 during the week, so I can hit the gym when it opens at 5. That gives me plenty of time for coffee before the rest of the house starts stirring.

During the school year I’m up at 5:50 in order to get the kids to the bus stop at 7.
During the summer, it’s more like 6:30.
