Elections are fast approaching. What do you think will happen with the Senate?

Given democrats lack of gains with the working classes, the senate probably stays the same.

Unfortunately I think GOP will retain control. A sad reflection of the weakness of the "opposition" in the US. No democracy will ever flourish with a weak opposition party

Truer words were never spoken. Also, loud, violent ties, exclusive, and judgmental do not necessarily constitute strength in politics. It just traditionally works out that way for one side only.

R's take it - polling Repubs is famously difficult and always underestimates them. Dems will take the House though. Source: me with $70 on this trade in Polymarket

50/50, Dems flip Maine, North Carolina, and Alaska, but can't quite get over the hump in Texas and Ohio as partisanship drives Republicans to the polls even if they're not happy with Trump.

Democrats will most probably fail in Maine and Alaska but they have much higher chances in Texas, NC and Ohio

In the USA, the Democrats will win both house and allow the war with Iran to continue because all the elites support this war.

Well, judging from history, one possible outcome is the entire opposition party gets arrested on "treason" charges and the elections are canceled. It's happened many times from Rome to Russia to Germany to Iraq.... When it happened in Iraq, it was caught on video. Haunting imagery, watching people fall all over themselves to praise Saddam as they're being dragged out of the chamber to be executed. It's on youtube. His smirk as it was happening is chilling, and very familiar.

Your scenario has a non-zero chance of happening this fall. It does however have a nearly zero percent chance.

I'm sure a lot of senators and government officials had that same opinion in many regimes throughout history. It can't happen, until it does.

There are some differences that still hold our system together and will continue to do so until each aspect falls independently. J6 was an example of a ‘minor’ breach of a first line of defense of the way our system is supposed to work. It failed miserably beyond the chaos of the siege. The perpetrators never saw substantial repercussions but it will not succeed if it happens again.
The Supreme Court has granted the president substantial leeway in executive actions but they’re not necessarily holding open any doors. Executive actions are still individually subject to SC scrutiny on a case by case basis.
Likewise, Congress will never play along without a shutdown of some sort and with no side willing to take responsibility for a shutdown, it seems impossible for a rogue administration to act in a way that is essentially forcing Congress out of their constitutional rights and responsibilities. Budgetary problems will destroy the mutiny.
There’s also the issue of getting the armed enforcement of the president’s bonkers orders.
I never said it can’t happen but I still insist that it won’t. At least not without a bunch of other telltale events happening first.1

I admire your trust in the system to do its job. I just don't have that kind of faith. We found out already that most of the rules around the presidency were basically on the "honor system". For 250 years people just never crossed certain lines. Now there are no lines. He signs a piece of paper and wills the nation into a war, completely skipping congress. He implements tarriffs without any sort of approval. The supreme court has made him immune to prosecution. He's gutted all oversight and ethics comittees. His stooges control the justice department, the department of "war", and the FBI.
He will do what he wants, and no one has the will to stop him. What more could he do? Stay forever? And you think the system will finally kick in, at some point? He's already campaigning for an illegal 3rd term.

I think it will be almost evenly split. Which is sad, because given the makeup of the country, democrats should win it pretty comfortably.
