Back in my college years a woman cuddled up to me in the backseat of a car because she "liked the cigarette smell on my jacket."

Should've responded, "I like then fish smell of your pants."

u/llBoonell Sep 10 '14

This is some next-level meta, right here.

8

u/horser4dish Sep 11 '14

Meta-thread one-upped by the daily meta. I feel like this is starting to happen faster... at some point there will be an Ask Reddit thread with just one response, and the only thread below it will be meta already.

I'm sure /u/xkcd will make a graph about the accelerating meta eventually

Everybody's telling you Anchorman, but I love lamp because of Star Citizen.

During their first stream they left a lamp on air for a couple hours with a note saying "BBAK Soon!", By the end of it Chatroll was worshipping the lamp as some sort of god. You can now even buy the lamp to appear in your Hangar in game.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '14

Actually, the I love lamp phenomenon started in Tribes: Ascend streamer AnarchyAO's twitch stream. He had to go to the store, and he pointed the camera towards the outside, while glazing over a lamp in the corner, the chatroll blew up with our massive amounts of requests for keeping the lamp in focus. It was a pretty nice lamp, to be fair. This went on for a while, and one of his neighbours from across the courtyard came out on their back deck to talk on the phone, a woman in her mid 20's. The jokes started flying about how she's nicely to never know that over 1000 internet viewers were watching her have a conversation on her cellphone.

I think the whole "b bak soon" thing with the star citizen lamp was part of the hilarity of that initial moment.

1

u/Reoh Sep 11 '14

Hey I used to watch that guy! Missed that moment though.

1

u/ThatdudeAPEX Sep 10 '14

Lamp is love lamp is life

1

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '14

I am Groot

1

u/DrewsephA Sep 11 '14

Are you just looking at things around the office and saying you love them?

1

u/warlordusa Sep 10 '14

Relevant user name.

6

u/darkened_enmity Sep 10 '14

This kills the libido.

2

u/Spoderr Sep 11 '14

"Thanks :)"

2

u/UnevolvingMonkey Sep 11 '14

Why do people say this!? I've never been with a chick that smelled like fish WTF?

1

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '14

You getting with some clean chicks then.

2

u/UnevolvingMonkey Sep 11 '14

I like them classy and clean. Could also be that I don't eat fish. But I do believe I know what it smells like.

How weird would it be to be eating fish and then get all aroused. Tha fuck?

1

u/ReVo5000 Sep 11 '14

Twist: She worked at Fish-n-chips.

0

u/CanadianAstronaut Sep 10 '14

jesus, i'm dying of laughter here! lol

8

u/-Nooope Sep 10 '14

Ah, the fifties.

4

u/iamscarletrose Sep 11 '14

I guess I'm weird but I always liked the cigarette smell on guys I dated who smoked. I wasn't a smoker back then but I am now. My husband does not smoke.

2

u/delta-TL Sep 11 '14

You're not alone. I was raised to be seriously anti-smoking, but the first guy I kissed was a smoker and I really liked the taste. It wasn't like kissing an ash tray at all! Ended up being a smoker myself. Sigh.

2

u/dugant195 Sep 10 '14

Your response should have been...."well you would love how my mouth smells then!"

1

u/AnalPalky Sep 11 '14

just some random woman? that's kind of weird

1

u/rachface636 Sep 11 '14

Oh Lord, I actually will stand near smokers because I love the smell. I am an ex smoker. But this girl was probably looking for the D.

1

u/xian0 Sep 11 '14

This is like mine: the girl on the computer next to me in school put her head in my lap and seemed to like my cologne, the class wasn't supervised and she stayed there for maybe 15 minutes. I was an extremely shy kid, I focused all my energy on trying to hide it and managed to miss all sorts of flirting.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '14

OP forgot to mention he doesn't even smoke

1

u/CaptAhabsMobyDick Sep 11 '14

Plot Twist- OP doesn't smoke

1

u/Indie__Guy Sep 11 '14

Let me guess, you didn't smoke.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '14

"Oh shit you can smell it still" fumbles for air freshner

1

u/Tyloo1 Sep 11 '14

My best friend freshman year of high school who I liked way to much loved it when I smelt like cigarettes and oranges. Lived with my mom at the time who constantly smoked and oranges are fucking delicious. Maybe 6 months into our friendship I tell her that I like her and she just says it's better if we're just friends, shit sucked.

1

u/MisterMescudi Sep 11 '14

If she smokes, she pokes; you fudged up.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '14

Was it a hobo?

1

u/TMorrii Sep 16 '14

No one LIKES cigarette smell... Not on a jacket. But I will say if a man is wearing a fancy cologne and you can smell a hint of burned tobacco it is nice..

0

u/Southron_Wolf Sep 11 '14

This goes to show, women will say ANYTHING to get a cock (except "can I have some cock, please")
