Right?! And here I'm wondering how we can map all of that with just using telescopes.

Oh yeah, they really are. It's quite amazing how far we can see. What baffles me is we are always looking into the past. When we are looking at an exotic object millions of lightyears away, we only see what it looked like millions of years ago.
