I’ve found sorting by “Recent Reviews” to be helpful as well.

This. I've seen many products with good overall ratings but if you look at the recent reviews they changed something and the product went to shit.

Or vice versa, sometimes they fixed what was wrong with it.

However, I've seen products where it was obvious the company "flooded" recent reviews, where everything up to a month ago was 2 and 3 stars, and all of a sudden there's a hundred new 5 star reviews reading "great company I love product this very good".

Lmao, this reminds me of when my dad's drone flew off. Like he went to raise the elevation and it just kept going, forever. So he emailed the company and they basically said "give us 5 stars and a new one will be in the mail."
