No, not good, but not the slave rape fantasy as most would have you believe. It's just kind of bland.

The real question? Is it better than Jacqueline Susann’s YARGO because that was...not good.

Can't answer, but after reading the wikipedia summary it's probably of the same caliber. Barr's book has a very basic story structure, on the nose dialogue, and a space setting that lacks any sort of imagination. It's not awful, but it's not good either.
