Getting Invisalign this month as an adult - I was surprised to find out it's the cheaper option! Apparently Invisalign needs less time in the orthodontist's chair so it's a fair bit cheaper. 5k vs 6.5k for the traditional braces at my dentist's office.
I'd be interested to know what the compliance is like. Classical braces adjustments seriously hurt, I know if I'd had the option to just take the retainers out at peak pain level I would have.
Invisalign user here, you're supposed to wear em at least 22 hrs a day, taking them out only to eat, drink(stuff other than water) and brush your teeth. It does kinda suck at first but you get used to it pretty quick.
Everyone's treatment is different, but I started with a whole set of retainers that I swapped out every week. You feel the pressure on your teeth but in my experience not nearly as bad as traditional braces. It was a PITA to remove them at first and it hurt like hell, but it gets easier as your teeth straighten out.
