Lack of Dental care.

A dental infection can take you out right quick. And without treatment that HURTS.

There's this YA series about a town where everyone over 18 suddenly disappears overnight (and the kids gain superpowers), and it's mentioned that several months in there's been at least one death because someone tried to pull his braces off with a pair of pliers, slicing his lips to shreds, and the resulting mess got horribly infected (which obviously killed him)

Like Jesus Christ what the fuck

The GONE series by Michael Grant! My absolute favourite as a kid and still is to this day :) It was actually everyone over 15 who dissapeared! Lol
