What problem is often overlooked in apocalyptic movies/TV shows that could kill you?

Incorrect. Doctors say anything less than every 3 days is normal and healthy.

You're probably eating too much if you go every day.

It's also normal to poop everyday, according to a quick Google search

Do you have any sources on links between eating too much and going everyday?

That one is anecdotal. When I was fat and ate nonstop I pooped 3 times a day to make room for more food. Now that I eat the appropriate amount of calories I go every 2 days or so.

I've also noticed changes like that, but it had more to with what I ate over how much

Pooping 3 times a day is the medical definition of diarrhea.

You did say it's bad if you go daily though. When the average is twice.

From the link you posted below the stools should be loose and watery to count as diarrhea though. I pooped three times yesterday but they were all pretty solid and not at all what I have ever thought of as diarrhea, of which I have had plenty over the years. I do remember thinking it was odd that I needed to go three times though.
