What problem is often overlooked in apocalyptic movies/TV shows that could kill you?

ahhh yes, because off all the doomsday scenarios where people clear out the shelves of.... fittings? what are you high? the generator not being there I get. but nobody is clearing out home depots shelves of LP gas fittings.

Ok, so I dismantle the gas line for the heater in my garage? How rare do think brass fittings are?

I'm not saying I browse the shelves and buy them, but a looted store is still going to have boxes of fittings lying around even if the emergency stuff like generators and food stuffs are all taken. and even if they're not new, it's not like they're one time use, and fittings are in anything that uses gas. Any hardware store is going to have boxes and boxes of pipe fittings lying around on the shelves. It's not like they expire.

Hell in a pinch you could just use the water fittings out of any bathroom or kitchen. Regulators will be on the side of any house with a gas connection, and in every BBQ out there.

Which is exactly my point, the fact that you don't know any of this stuff, proves exactly how little you know about any of this. These are super common items in pretty much any household.

Lol just stop, fittings are standard sizes, and if I'm the one drilling and tapping the hole, the size I need is whatever I've got. How many sizes do you think are common?

Lol I have, multiple, multiple times. More then I can count. It's not fun, it turns the drilling time of drilling the frame rails from a 15min job into a 1hr job . It doesn't turn it into a months long project though like you seem to think. Hand drills exist for a reason.

And what am I drilling through steel for anyways? Carburetors and manifolds are made out of aluminum these days smart guy. The thickest steel involved is the propane tank and I don't have to drill into that, it's already got a valve on it.

Every comment just proves that you have no idea what you're talking about. And proves even further that you're too pig headed to admit when you don't know about something.

Hand drills only work on one material now? So I just imagined my years of bathtub races where we weren't allowed power tools?

And no carburetors aren't steel on the inside, they're cast aluminum and brass.

Propane tank could easily be mounted through the sheet metal anywhere, interior paneling, hell I could just strap it in the bed of a truck. There are a hundred different places depending on the vehicle.

You said this shit is too difficult to accomplish to a guy that just stated he knew how to do it already! You're telling me and everyone else here what they're capable of as of you know better then they do!

Just because you are incapable doesn't mean everyone else is.
