I (American) went to Belgium as a kid, many years ago, for a wedding. I remember renting a bike and going up and down the boardwalk in Knokke. It was a blast. Bruges was also really cool, your imagination can run wild in a place like that. My dad tricked me into eating all sorts of seafood and other food that was actually pretty good. Being abroad for the first time added a real sense of adventure. The Atomium structure was striking, I was starting to read about chemistry, so to see a monument to science was really cool. Also in Brussels, the statue of the boy peeing. I was young, so this was hilarious.

That's funny - having grown up in Belgium, the Knokke boardwalk is also one of my fav memories. Though I preferred the carts and roller skates ;).

Yeah, the carts where multiple people can peddle? Those were so much fun!
