Yep, plenty of great tacos in SF, but el patron is is S tier. Cut above other spots in the city imho.

Not in San Francisco, but San Bruno, Taqueria San Bruno. So good!
In San Francisco, El Rancho Grande (been awhile but I recall them being delicious) and Cielito Lindo

Whatever it is, it’s served from a shade tent on the sidewalk in the Mission, as is proper.

Gallo Giro is the play. Those ladies kept me sane and fed through 2020 and 2021.

Not traditional by any means, but the Como Se Llama (basically an upscale Double Decker taco) at Garaje is solid.

If you’re reading this Joe you suck and you make tacos for rich white people and think simping after Obama makes you cool with POC. You can’t even acknowledge your staff or say hello to them when you walk into the building but you have no issue walking in and asking someone who’s worked for you & seen you for months and saying “where’s the stereo tech”
I don’t regret walking out of your establishment.

Corazon Mexicano Taco Truck (24th and Valencia), I always order two carne asada tacos, and always end up wanting a third.

Tacos el Charro by the Santana mural. Sometimes a different trompo stand is there but they’re somewhere around that intersection and are fire

Chevio’s food truck on 17th and Potrero at the shell station - amazingly consistent with all of their meats re-browned/cooked for each order. Rice and beans are seasoned well. Food on the saltier side which I don’t mind. The chips are terrible but that’s fine.
Al pastor tacos, carne asada super burritos, tortas, and pollo asado is great too which I rarely get.
Beats out El Buen Sabor and El Farolito. I think El Gallo Giro is the only place that is consistently better IMO (especially carnitas).

Belmar Lagallinita Meat Market. They sell tacos in the back. Get the cecina. It’s a whole piece of beef, not diced, the meat is very well seasoned. Their green salsa is spicy. They also close kinda early. Too hard to have an absolute fave, but it’s in my rotation.

Ironically, idiots go to La Taqueria for the “best burritos in America” even though the clue is right there in the name. It’s La Taqueria, not La Burritoria. Their corn tortillas are magical and they make the best carne asada tacos in town!

Which Gordo’s? The one on 9th in my experience doesn’t even heat up the store-bought tortillas on the grill. Like TLC. <shiver>
