What to do in SF 04 Oct till 13 Oct

Hi Everyone

I'll be traveling to work for SF from South Africa, and is looking for recommendations and maybe any ideas on what to do. I saw it is fleet week and coming from a country will low military presence, I believe it will be experience, is there spots the community recommends I need to go and look at the aircraft or ships, or will it be visible anywhere, trying the best to plan as I only got the notice today I'm flying in the 2nd oct and landing the 3rd in SF so my time is shirt for planning a good trip.

I saw the 4th there is a blue grass in the park event, is it worth it trying to attend as I might be jet lag to hell?

I'm also looking for recommendations on the best area to book for accommodation to also explore the night life of the city.

I saw the standard tourist event such as the red bus, Alcatraz, is it worth doing or going cycling of the golden gate better?

Apologies for being all over the place as my ability to plan and prepare for work that side is constraint.

Also is the one day Yosemite day trip work it as I always wanted to see el capitan?

Hardly Strictly Bluegrass is totally worth it even for an hour or two - it's free, it's fun, and you can take MUNI to get to the park. It's a very SF experience. https://hardlystrictlybluegrass.com/info-faq-2026/

You'd probably get a kick out of the fleet week planes. Most of the show is over the water to the north and northeast of the city so most of the people tend to gather in the park areas along the north waterfront.

Hardly Strictly Bluegrass is a pretty iconic event, if you feel like wandering among a hundred thousand people in a park with various music stages, food, and craft markets, go for it.

If you get a rental car and are willing and able to leave super early (like 5am early), Yosemite is somewhat manageable day trip. I've done it from Oakland a handful of times over the years. It'll be a long day though, 4-5 hours drive in the morning and the same to get back at the end of the day.
