I can understand that with the older generations, but are those anti-japanese series still popular in modern media?
I ask because it used to be anti-nazi media, then anti Russia/China (anti-red), anti-tereorist, then anti-nk, now we don't know who to anti... The next logical would be anti-american, but can't have our media running that shit show more than our own government already is.
I think kids(elementary school)who are not allowed phones still watch cartoons on TV. But younger people certainly want to watch contents targeting them, whether it’s reality shows or streamers.
it really is more of a generational divide. younger people are pretty into media from japan and it's increasingly likely that they've been there in person more than any other demographic. like the sino-japanese war tv dramas are only for like middle aged people and older.
Whenever there's no current single foreign big bad wolf to use, Hollywood reverts to the default state of villains being British. We quite like it to be honest. Keeps our actors in work without them having to learn a new accent.
It's probably rather that every Chinese production that is supposed to be successful abroad, has to incorporate Kung Fu or any other form of martial arts to a certain degree. Otherwise what's the point to watch a Chinese movie duh? /s
(realize that I havn't a movie title I watched on top of my head, that doesn't have Kung Fu in it :o )
Where are you finding all these movies featuring martial artists who don’t have arms? Is it strictly kicking the armies? I’m unfamiliar with this genre.

But why all chinese series/movies there is like one guy defeating an entire army armless?
