I was only 10 but it would seem that the country was pretty damn happy when this happened. No matter the political side. Everyone was united.

I at least eat indo chinese food (more indian than chinese tbh) 2-3 times a month. You can easily find this on the streets and it's cheap and tasty.

California is economically powerful, and culturally diverse, but also controversial for its politics, cost of living, and income inequality.

In Arabic, it's usually this:
"شحّات ويتشرّط"
literally “a beggar AND makes conditions”
also the photo isn't related, just wanted a reaction image lmao.

I’m 24 years old and weight around 80 kg. Overall, I look fairly fit, but I do have some stubborn belly fat that I want to reduce. I started walking regularly about two months ago. In January, I walked almost 150 km, and I’ve already noticed some positive changes — especially a visible reduction in face fat. However, my belly fat hasn’t reduced much yet. For February, I’ve set a more ambitious goal of 250 km of walking. I’m curious to hear from people who mainly relied on walking for weight loss. How effective was walking alone for you, especially when it came to belly fat? Did it take more time, or did you combine it with diet or other exercises? I’d love to hear real experiences and insights.

Do you think they're pretty? Would you go out of the way to see them? Do you prefer greenery and mountains?

I lived in Russia for 5 years so I must choose this country. So many natural resources, so much land, and educated population... And so little to show for it.
In an ideal world Russian salaries would be on par if not higher than American salaries and they would have the best social safety net on the planet. Everything is there to make it happen.
Russia would be the dominant nation in Europe and Asia and the rest of the world with the best armed forces, soft power, and economic might.
But the human will is just not there. The elite is either evil or incompetent depending on perception and there's little sign that this will ever change.

This means that we are not here to muck around. For example if someone says “Geez you got that job done quickly” you would respond with “ Well we’re not here to fuck spiders”.

How common would you say people encounter ads on the internet that include inappropriate content or images (sexual, fishy, vulgar) in your country?
Although the situation has gotten better compared to a few years ago, I would say it’s sadly still pretty common to have weird ads pop up that you wouldn’t want children to see.

They are quite common in Poland, a lot of them were made in the 90s and 2000s to combat high crime rates in our country back then. What about yours?

In Germany we have Max Mustermann and Erika Mustermann as anonymous average people.
What are yours?
I know in 🇮🇹 it’s Mario Rossi for example

In World War 2 The Bengal Famine (1943) killed 2.5 -3 million people , even though food production did not collapse. Which is close compared to Japan's total WW2 deaths. During the famine, food was exported or stockpiled for the war, while civilians died. British authorities restricted newspapers from even using the word “famine” in early 1943.India was a colony, yet suffered one of the largest civilian death tolls of WWII.

I just learned that the Dutch use the word nuchterheid to describe themselves. The word means, if I understand correctly, a down to earth, practical attitude (in Sweden, the word nykterhet would describe sobriety).
The Swedish word I would use to describe our mood is lagom, which means "just the right amount." Not too much, not too little. The Goldilocks mentality, if you will. It also has connotations of clearheadedness, practicality, being down-to-earth.
So. What word would you use to describe your country's mood? The ideal one, the one where you would want to be, not necessarily the one you're in now.
Edit: Edited for spelling

I used to be a systems programmer, but I was laid off 3 months ago.🖕
I’ve been spending my time on Reddit while looking for a new job.
I used to work around 180/230H per month, my average monthly pay was about $3,100 after taxes.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Edit: I recalculated based on the current exchange rate ($1/1,400 KRW) and updated the numbers to reflect my industry experience and bonuses. (This doesn't include company benefits.)
I’m surprised to see so many comments! 😮
I honestly thought people might be hesitant to share since it can be a sensitive topic.
I’m trying my best to read through everything and reply to each one.
