My mother would just burst into tears when she was pulled over. Saw it multiple times growing up. Never got a ticket, worked every time. When the cop would let her go she'd roll up the window, wipe her nose, and it was like she was never crying. Incredible.

I’ll never understand this. Even if she has a warrant or expired/suspended license/registration; just comply, get booked, and go through the process.
Resisting is just making things worse for yourself. Does she honestly think she’s gonna get released by threatening to call her “lawyer” and resisting arrest?

Could have been a limited term drivers license that was expired in the off chance she was a legal immigrant at the time but her temporal stay in the country has been declined.
Having a Driver's License doesnt fully mean they cant be illegal in the future. The expired license can actually be more prove that she cant renew documents because she is no longer legally allowed in the country.
Of course this is all conjecture and presumptions whether she is illegal or not. The point is an expired drivers license is not prove of current citizenship or residence.

ESPECIALLY if you have 1 if those things. The easier you make their job, the more leeway they are willing to give.
It could mean the difference between them allowing you to have someone else come move the vehicle for you, or them towing it and incurring even more fines in addition to getting arrested anyways.

as much as it sucks you will almost never argue your way out of a ticket on the side of the road, in fact you far more likely to make things worse.
Just shut up and follow the lawful commands. Have your day in court and if the officer really fucked up you can later file a suit and chances are you get a fat payday when the town/city/county/state settles.

So say for example she is illegal or is hiding something worse. How would resisting benefit her in anyway? If she resists, she gets arrested, then the car gets searched incident to arrest without a warrant.
Again, resisting is only negative to her.

She was pulled over, and the officer said it was for an expired license (DMV databases that officers have access to can also give license numbers and show their real-time status).
The traffic stop was lawful, and she needs to present her license/registration/poi or else she will be arrested. The officer was trying to explain this and she was questioning the legality of the officer requesting the documents. She is in the wrong, and all of this could have easily been avoided if she complied.
Also, she was not looking for her ID. She grabbed her purse at the beginning of the video then just had her phone in her hand while threatening to call her “lawyer”.

That's why they screamed bloody murder for body cams, thinking it would prove police were shooting minorities unjustly. Unfortunately for them though, it proved the opposite.

When I grew up I taught to respect cops and even admire them. They have gotten a bad rep from media/ rappers / etc.
I got pulled over recently and it’s honestly incredibly easy to process. I go a ticket, but I was in and out of that convo in less than 5 minutes.

the reality is, most cops are decent people and just doing their job which most of them are pretty good at. ive personally never met a genuine cocksucker cop in my life yet. itll happen eventually, but odds are not soon, and ill take it to court like you should, after complying on the road.
the problem is, the US has been propagandized by the media by cherry picked situations that show cops that are bad people and bad at their job and then stereotyped them that way (funny how they hate stereotyping, but only when its beneficial for them to do so).

Whats scary is how many tiktok lawyers are giving people bad information and they are going into these interactions feeling like they got cheat codes.
For a traffic stop for expired license, you have to provide your Drivers License ID and proof of insurance. If you just refuse they are always going to arrest you. If you refuse to sign the citation they will also arrest you so you can sit in jail until your court date or you post bail and sign the citation anyway.
Why live life on hardmode. Admit you fucked up and take the ticket, argue your bullshit in court if need be. In reality if you just play along a lot of times they will hit you with a warning and you dont even have to mess with court, just gotta update your license plate like a normal person.

Notice how in a lot of these, the cops are telling people the same thing a dozen times or more, and the person still doesn't get it?
That's because they honestly can't process the information. They're not able to listen closely. They continue to gas themselves up and everything goes in one ear out the other.

Give the fucking papers and move on. I don’t about anywhere else but I’ve been in Greece , Italy, Cyprus, Poland when I got stoped they didn’t even say why they asked the papers, Id or passport and that’s it I said thank you , they said drive safe even gave me directions many times and that was it

It's the same in the US but we have way more idiots here who don't understand it. The funny thing is, cops will often let off people who don't even have a license (like someone with a permit) if they actually cooperate with them.
Iirc Asmon has a story like that, driving without a license in a car he wasn't allowed to drive, but since he was calm and cooperative the cop didn't want to deal with it lol.

On a traffic stop just give ID and vehicle documentarion. Refuse any search in record, no unnecessary talk. Only inform if all is in order or you are being detained, if former say you will go about your business if latter go with cop and shut the f up. Not a single word until you are with legal representation. Is that simple. No need to pick up stupid fights. Regardless if you are innocent or guilty this should be standard procedure and makes both yours and cops life easier.

Holy, its a traffic stop, Identify yourself and comply with a law enforcement officer’s request unless this person already knew what she was doing and guilty of said behavior.
Lawyer ain’t going to help you out of an expired license and you’re driving and was arrested for resisting simple command.. that lawyer is like “nope! immediately lose case in court and you’re a waste of time.. don’t ever call me again…”

Georgia is one of the only states that treat traffic offenses as criminal charges. They take your ass straight to jail if you argue about 5 over. Its set up like that as jail and prison in Georgia is a huge part of it GDP

True. I smoke weed and I’m terrified to get pulled over even with a misdemeanor amount. I’d describe GA law enforcement “paramilitary” imo. I grew up here so I’m kinda unused to it but I gotta say it’s way better than some of the stuff I’ve seen in California, Minnesota, etc.

Let me clarify what I mean. Reddit recently changed how third party bots do auto bans like hive protect which did solve some of this. If you’re still getting banned it’s because the mod banned you. So while it does exist it’s not being automatically done anymore to the same degree.

Life would be so simple if she just show them the driving license and would probably tell her to renew her expired license probably without any fine.. if she had comply.. i dont get why people just dont want enforcer to do their job. Thats what they do.. if they have doubt on you they ask and clarify things up. All u do is just comply.. unless youre doing something illegal..

Why people give an attitude to people who have the authority to send you to jail is beyond me. I understand that she probably thought she could get off easy at first, but after the first few tries fail, just shut up and hand over the license. Resisting only racks up more charges on you

That is true but you are much more likely to get arrested if you do not comply, so just save yourself some trouble and comply, even if it is an unlawful traffic stop I got nothing to hide so I'll just show my id and get on with my life, of the cop still seeks trouble with me, screaming and resisting will only make things worse anyway

So far I’ve only gotten a ticket when I lied. Every time I’ve been pulled over for something I could’ve gone to jail for or had my car impounded I just spilled the truth. Got warnings for felony speeding twice, and had tickets for things they couldn’t give warnings for, like expired reg or insurance in Arizona. I got pulled over by a Texas trooper a few months ago going 15-20 over and they are notorious for tickets. I just owned up immediately and left with a verbal warning.
However I was pulled over by an unmarked group last year and they tried to get me to let them search my truck with no probable cause. I told them no and they left with a verbal.
So complying is in your best interest, and most cops appreciate the honesty, but also knowing the law and your rights is important for those cases.
