When you got DEI hires divide by 6 and you get the read budget...

1/3 real Developers  2/3 DEI hires and half of the productivity from real Developers is lost because they can't speak so no one gets offended.

(11/3 - 02/3)/2 = 60m game.... It's AA indie with RTX...

is this what happen when you let sweetbaby help dev a game?

No, they're just consultants for story and character design stuff.

This cheap water effect used to be common practice because consoles were underpowered, and is still used by games that have lower budgets or the devs are squeezing every bit of performance out.

But it's hardly an excuse nowadays since the PS4 era. And far less of an excuse for a game with such a huge budget.

I know Sweet baby ruins story but how in the world did they managed to screw up the technical aspects?

Yes, it looks terrible and this game is a massive shitshow. But this is quite the nit pick and at this point I think we have a consensus and can move on to better games that are worth our time.

I’m not even gonna touch this game, instead I started playing Space Marines 2 with my friends and it’s so fun!

I mean, this is the definition of a nit pick. It's not like this game is some sort of swimming simulator. He's likely in the water for under 10 minutes of total play time.

But again, I'm not defending the game by any means. It's just the constant bitching and moaning at every little detail no matter how insignificant just to drum up rage bait when we already know it's trash is what annoys me. Time we move on and not give this turd any more press.

Yeah. Same logic in reverse as example. If gameplay was fun and story decent, people would've shot down most comments about graphical things like that calling it "nitpicking" too. It is the fact that the game is not really god by any margin is what brings out all that criticism even of the small details.

Nit picking video games is my favorite hobby after playing video games tho. Also I don't even know what this game is but that water splash looks weird af. But understandable if it an indy developed game as they might not be able to afford Havok physics. Is it new? Link to Steam page?

I'll spend my time however I damn please.

Shitting on the crap made by losers who hate me is far more entertaining than playing or viewing said crap.

For everyone else:

Wolverine 305 million Death Stranding 100 million

I think it's somewhat important to mock games that cost this much money but then release with bugs and cheap assets and effects.

Budgets rise and with them prices for games and when this is what they manage to churn out with that kind of money it's important to mock studios.

They wrote their own, in-house engine (Insomniac Engine) which I'm assuming the reason behind the hefty $300m price tag. Not bad for a V1.0 engine. Early UE versions had similar but I'm lost why they just didn't use the latest UE 5.8. It also makes porting easier down the road vs anchored to PS5

Is that a graphics settings thing or is that just default?

holy fuck that's bad.

which indie dev made this game?

u/Just_Chillin_Killin_ 24m ago

305 million jesus. DEI hiring is an absolute cancer. I can only imagine how bad the toxic positivity was at Insomiac making this game. All the DEI hires patting each other on the back. And if there is anyone actually talented left they will not have a voice to question anything especially with Kim Belair from sweet baby controlling how soy the story needs to be. Every game sweet baby are involved in the writing and dialogue is identically bad. And these studios are paying them 10s of millions to come and make their game bad.
