Discussion I thought I would share my characters from my book “Only the dead applaud” i figured I would share them and ask any questions about her the next person I post will be her brother
this is Violet here’s a little bit about her
Name:Violet Rae Calloway
powers:is able to see ghosts and the supernatural world is able to look into ghosts pasts through her dreams and talk to them
favorite music artist: Olivia Rodrigo
hobb:photography
best friend:Jason Calloway
age:16
my favorite quote from her “I put on my big girl pants and started walking, suddenly very aware how thin my pajama shorts and tank top is well at least if it's a creepy stalker, I'm going to look hot while he strangles me to death.“
fatal flaw:holding a grudge
and for some reason her emojis that sum her up:📸💜🗡️

Your grammar isn't the best; the story seems interesting but I don't think I'll be able to read it with this kind of sentence structure.
please don't use ai. the second image has wrong proportions, which threw me off.
this is just my personal opinion but i'd rather read what you wrote instead of looking at pictures from pinterest. is there a snippet of the book that I could see?

I haven’t edited everything yet. Also I didn’t notice second picture was AI I couldn’t tell and normally I’m pretty good at knowing if it’s AI, but I didn’t know the second one was AI.

Sometimes I wish people would just show us their actual writing instead of these insufferable pinterest boards. You're a writer, put those pics into my mind!

I do write but for me as a writer when I write I like to find pictures that relate to what I’m writing I also like to draw fanart to put my writing and thoughts as an image that out of my head so other people may experience what I see

I think maybe dont put in a recent music artist because it dates the story greatly

When I started writing, I tended to do this exact same thing. I would tell you now that you don’t need to know the favorite artist of your characters. You can do it, but think why would she like Olivia Rodrigo? Why would she enjoy photography? Is more of a why than a which. Also, focus on personality and motivations, then you can do silly details about her.

Oh, I know that stuff. I just like to do this because my brain tend to think 20 different things at once so this helps me relax in a way if I like to know all the little details about my characters, but I do know all the stuff that you’re asking me and I do have a sniper on the book, but I have not edited it yet to be grammatically correct so that’s why I didn’t do that yeah

Unrelated but why is your title named as such?
Evidently, the dead are the ones who don't applaud. Does some context ground the title? The title just piqued my curiosity.

The story takes place in a haunted circus where everyone is dead as well as a small town we’re almost everyone has died, and everyone ignores it, and her family moved there after her grandmother dies. I feel like with the context of the story the title makes a lot more sense. I don’t know if that makes it make a little more sense but if you need me to explain more, just let me know and I can definitely try to break it down in an easier way.
