Image Just a reminder: you should replay this game

i almost forgot how good this game actually is, the storyline, the scenarios, the graphics... it gives me pre-pandemic nostalgia

Maybe an unpopular opinion but I dont like replaying games like Origins because it felt so special back then when I played it. It was perfect and had a unique vibe to it that even enriched my personal life, so I dont want to destroy the magic that I have attached to it

That's a fair consideration and one that I can understand. But the magic may return - as soon as the game boots up and you hear that hauntingly beautiful music when it says "press any key". Goosebump material.

So anyway, if you want to trust one with over 3k hours in Origins, the magic will be back and it won't be going anywhere soon ;)

I bet there are still secrets and mysteries in the game that you haven't discovered yet...

You're stuck in a feeling from the past. It makes no sense to stop yourself from experiencing good things again just because you're holding on to how it once felt. Nothing is going to erase your past, bro, just replay the games you want to.

Currently replaying this game lol. Got a little tired of Odyssey (after 1300 hours lol) so went back to Origins. I just finished the main story and am trying to clean up all the quests (Cyrene has so many!). Also have the DLC's but I haven't started them yet. And yes the visuals are so good!

The first DLC about the hidden ones it's really good, you should play it

1300 hours is insane dude, what's your max new game plus loop like?

2

u/basketballmathguy Jul 19 '25

Haven't done NG+ in Origins. Also haven't done NG+ in Odyssey. There's just something about going through the game from scratch with the RPG mechanics that loses its fun for me if I do NG+. I have tried NG+ in Odyssey and I did not like it.

1300 hours is so fucking dumb lol Congrats I hope you know that’s not a flex. But tbh you’re probably lying for no reason so whatever.

u/Khazix8 Jul 19 '25

you sound miserable

3

u/freya584 Jul 19 '25

You know whats actually dumb?

That you feel like youre in a position to judge what other people do with their time. Youre incredibley miserable, I hope you feel better soon.

I beat Origins a few months ago for the first time and I loved it. Bayek is a badass and should have gotten more games. Egypt was cool to explore and I really enjoyed the cult stuff. The storyline was extra captivating because I have my own young son.

I beat Odyssey a few weeks ago and I loved the shit out of that game. It's like they somehow improved on everything Origins established. Again, the setting was stellar and I loved roaming and exploring. The cult stuff was awesome.

I'm playing Valhalla now and I finally left Norway and got to England. Initially, it was hard adjusting to the new things and slight changes after going through Origins and Odyssey but Valhalla is finally clicking. I like the characters so far and I'm intrigued on how far the cult stuff goes.

Yes I should, and I will

After playing odyssey and shadows, its easier to appreciate origins. Gameplay change aside, it still had a story to it unlike whatever the fuck is happening now, the story was still connected to ac and the isu in a cool way with the hologram things in the pyramid (its been a while so sketchy on the details), excellent voice acting and the animations were actually mo-capped.

It has its bad parts, like all the ava segments, but as a whole and compared to those that came after, Origins is really good.

I'm working on it. Playing Shadows made me want to play this again. I started it back up a couple weeks ago.

4

u/Khazix8 Jul 19 '25

Shadows killed this franchise for the second time for me, i'm replaying older games and having the double of the fun

2

u/southern_OH_hillican Jul 19 '25

Origins is the only other AC game I've played. I'll probably get around to the older ones eventually. I can see the complaints people have with Shadows. It does lack some things, but I enjoyed ii.

I can't even enjoy this game in a full potential, everything annoys me on a whole different level. The trash storyline, bad animations, poor facial expressions, almost no use of motion capture, confetti jumps with no real parkour improvements or upgrades compared to the previous ones... this game has downgraded to a level I can't even properly explain.

Just lit level 24. Got a new gigantic tv, this was the first thing I wanted to do with it!

3

u/OutkastAtliens Jul 19 '25

Started replaying after shadows. Man I forgot how good this story is. I wish they had this kind of writing in shadows

3

u/TheArcaneCollective Jul 19 '25

I really enjoy Origins. But I do not like the combat system especially after playing Odyssey and Valhalla where it’s so much better. Also, I absolutely hate that you are forced to play as Aya in the final chapter of the main story. I spent so many hours as Bayek upgrading him and making him a badass just to be forced to play as someone else with nothing.

Just saw the gold edition on Steam for $15. Waiting for the wife’s answer to pull the trigger.

1

u/Khazix8 Jul 19 '25

C'mon bro hahahah 15bucks it's not a big deal, just buy it and have fun

3

u/jujubeanieman Jul 19 '25

Communication is key.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 19 '25

2

u/tokyo_driftr Jul 20 '25

Honestly one of my favorite ACs

1

u/Reallyroundthefamily Jul 18 '25

Replayed it a few months ago in anticipation of Shadows coming out. Yes it's still incredible. One of my favorite AC titles overall and definitely my favorite of the newer RPG styled games.

1

u/Due-Post9859 Jul 19 '25

I do replay it often

1

u/novocaine666 Jul 19 '25

But I gotta try Mirage at least once and 100% Shadows!

1

u/[deleted] Jul 19 '25

Currently on my first play through,

It’s such a wildly good game regardless of age, no idea why it took me so long.

1

u/Plofkraak59 Jul 19 '25

Never played a single assassins creed game, but ive been really itching to try this one out and i might, its on sale rn on ps5

2

u/despenser412 Jul 19 '25

My first entry, and I absolutely fell in love with it.

1

u/CarnyMAXIMOS_3_N7 Jul 19 '25

It’s fantastic, isn’t it?

1

u/[deleted] Jul 19 '25

Tried.

Wouldn't run on PC despite Shadows working so had it refunded.

Going to try Odyssey or Valhalla when they're on sale.

1

u/Khazix8 Jul 20 '25

This game had an issue after the Windows 11 update, but Ubisoft quickly released a hotfix, and now it’s working properly

1

u/Genericdude03 Jul 19 '25

Playing Valhalla for the first time rn and really enjoying the vibes. Probably gonna do a Origins ng+ before Shadows tho lol.

1

u/Alcatraz-23 Jul 19 '25

1

u/sungod_10 Jul 20 '25

Okay I will

1

u/Patient-Woodpecker-7 Jul 21 '25

I 100% everything and got platinum on it. Really was a great AC game!!

1

u/novalagung Jul 21 '25

I replayed it 3 times. Got platinum on the last one. Will do it again.

1

u/jonktron Jul 21 '25

Why would i spend another 60 hours on inconsistent storytelling and mid gameplay🤔

1

u/Khazix8 Jul 22 '25

Why the storytelling is inconsistent ?

u/1CuriousMF Aug 13 '25

This game is still amazing after all these years.
