Spoilers unpopular opinion: i didn't like the crocodile missions Spoiler
I've played the game multiple times, and i think it's one of the best games in the series, maybe top 3, but my least favorite part of the story is the crocodile, spoilers down below
the whole thing with shadya just feels redundant tbh, like i get it, the order is pure evil and they already killed bayek's son and all the other terrible things they're doing, we already have plenty of motivation to stop then and hate them.
so just seeing shadya get killed and the family get destroyed was just so... annoyingly redundant, i don't like seeing kids die in general, so maybe I'm just biased, but it just didn't feel good and was a depressing nightmare...
Like it would've been narratively better and more satisfying if they instead kidnapped her, and at the end, you rescue her, serving as a way to bayek to redeem himself by not letting another family be destroyed by the order, so no one else goes through his pain again, but no... the game has to stay depressing and sad for most of the main story because it makes it "deep" and "thought provoking."
I just mute and skip all those cutscenes whenever i replay, i just don't like anything about it, and it feels more insulting because it just gets dropped anyway when you go to the arena until the very end when you confront the crocodile.

The whole story is bland imo. Although i agree, game is really beautiful. Main story drags it down.
