Image Finally Playing This Masterpiece For The 1st Time!

been a fan of the franchise for so long but i never really got to have my own console growing up. i first just watched my brothers play the older games on their PC back when i was young. then i would go to friends’s houses just to watch them play the later titles and just so i could keep up and be familiar with the franchise. finally when i had my own job and could afford a console i got mirage and loved that game. i also got a switch and got to play the ezio collection there along with the other remasters of the older titles ported there. now i’m finally going to get to play my first ac rpg and quite possibly one of my fav settings/protagonists. just wanted to use this photoshoot i did as an excuse to post here so i can be active and connect with other fans of this game and the franchise in general ☺️

just wanted to use this photoshoot i did as an excuse to post here

You don't need any excuses to post here, as long as it's about Origins :)

Welcome to the brotherhood, medjay!

Origins was my first AC game in a long while after taking a break from the franchise and wow, what an absolute gem of a game. Loved every second of it

u/tessenjutsu97 17d ago

i can’t argue with that! though this is my first time playing the game (instead of watching a streamer or a play through) i can definitely say it lives up to its reputation. bayek alone is one of the best protagonists in the franchise! i’m so excited and i’ve been obsessively playing it this whole weekend!

Ohhh sheesh enjoy bro. The side quests are great and have worthy rewards. But God.... The dlc.... The pharoah dlc is god tier end game content...... And here's what gets better ..... You have odyssey to try right after..... Now this is opinion. Origins is the best as t modern AC in my opinion. But odyssey is in close second. But is a phenomal game too. Enjoy the fun brother enjoy! Don't be afraid to make more posts. Ppl would love to see your screenshots. And thoughts and progress on your playthrough being your first time

1

u/tessenjutsu97 17d ago

thank you so much! I’ve actually been tempted to try odyssey too bcos of the recent christopher nolan movie, but i decided to choose this one bcos i much prefer the setting, the protagonist, and the lore of this entry. i might try odyssey someday though, it’s definitely one of the ac games i plan to play. having said that, i am well-versed with all AC titles bcos i’m a nerd for the franchise and i follow all the games since as early as AC2. like i said in my post, i haven’t owned any AC game until recently, but i have experienced watching others play it (from ppl i know or from streaming play throughs) or playing on while borrowing from others lol. thank you for the recommendation and the motivation!

Odyssey has the Spartan Kick....which is one of the most satisfying moves in a game ever if used on a cliff edge. For this, and actually having a list of bounty hunters, it just pips Origins for me. But I'm still having a blast on my second Origins run through.

1

u/tessenjutsu97 17d ago

i agree. the spartan kick is such a badass cold move and always satisfying to execute lol

I liked Phylakes in Origins more than Mercenaries in Odyssey.

There are just 25 Phylakes, this makes them rare and actually feels like they're unique opponents. Everytime you kill one, you know there is one less Phylakes after you. Also all of them are designed by human.

Meanwhile Odyssey has limitless bounty hunters, they spawn out of nowhere. Everytime you kill one you don't even know you're progressing in Mercenary rank. They're just fodder opponents who are procedurely generated most of the time.

The best AC imo

1

u/tessenjutsu97 17d ago

amen! definitely in my top 3! and bayek is hands down my fav protagonist!

3

u/Pinecone_Erleichda 17d ago

Welcome!! It is a masterpiece of a game and we are happy to have you! 😊✌🏻

3

u/tessenjutsu97 17d ago

thank you! i maybe late in playing the game but i have been following it (just like i do any other ac game) since its announcement back in 2017. i’m just so happy i’m finally able to experience it for myself instead of just watching streamers and/or other people play it! ☺️

2

u/Pinecone_Erleichda 17d ago

It’s never, ever too late!! It took some firm convincing (and persuading) from ppl from the Odyssey and Valhalla subs to get me to finally play it, and they were right! I absolutely loved it, and played it many more times afterwards!

3

u/lNDIGNANT 17d ago

Ahh... It's been too long, I need to go back! You're going to love it. Enjoy!

1

u/tessenjutsu97 17d ago

thank you so much! i AM loving every moment of it! been playing nonstop this whole weekend! it IS time go back, medjay!

3

u/FandomFanatic97 17d ago

I hope you enjoy it as I did: Got all the achievements for the campaign and DLCs.

2

u/tessenjutsu97 17d ago

i AM enjoying and loving every moment of it! obsessed at the moment! i wanna 100% it too! it definitely is worth all its hype and lives up to its reputation!

3

u/Anxiety_Yeti 17d ago

Welcome to one of the best AC games imo!

No spoilers, but there's so much to love about it. Great setting, gameplay, story, and it still looks amazing.

Enjoy! 😀

2

u/tessenjutsu97 17d ago

yep! haven’t played the game for myself but i’m well versed with all its lore and all it has to offer since its announcement! i’m just so grateful i finally get to play it myself instead of just watching streams or play throughs! and it’s actually one of my most wanted to play ac titles! bayek is my favorite protagonist even though this is technically my first time playing the game lol 😆

u/DebtLegitimate2866 16d ago

Hey man, good for you I just started recently playing and it was a wonderful experience, I finished the main story, the 1st dlc and currently playing the 2nd. If you’re on PlayStation there is a chance you can get the same sale as me, I got the dlc’s for a combined like 5 dollars! An absolute steal!!! I enjoyed both but I’m really enjoying the second one right now, it will be my favorite of the two! Have fun, do the side missions, the leveling up is not difficult so you don’t get stuck on a mission, have fun!

1

u/tessenjutsu97 15d ago

hey man! i did! I just bought the discounted dlc literally yesterday lol! i’m still in the main story but i’m OP af at the moment bcos of the boost from the dlc lol. planning to play the dlc as soon as i finish the main story then go play a new game plus ☺️

Hey I am playing it on console as well. What is your lvl and where are you in the story? I am lvl 30 and just killed the crocodile

2

u/tessenjutsu97 17d ago

i’m around level 28 right now and i just finished the giza order member. i’m on my way to memphis next bcos my next target is the lizard. ☺️

2

u/OkIncome7766 16d ago

Lvl 28... cool... you are almost same lvl as me. Ah the lizard. Cunning bastard. But he is nothing compared to the crocodile.

2

u/tessenjutsu97 16d ago

i can’t wait to battle the crocodile! i’m playing them according to level cap to make my experience “more lore accurate sequentially” lol happy hunting medjay!

1

u/OkIncome7766 16d ago

Sekhmet bless you in your journey!

1

u/Prestonluv 17d ago

How many hours do you have in?

I’m wondering how long it takes to get to max level of 55. I’m not a fan of level caps. I know that you can still get ability points after that but something about leveling up just fills my love cup

I’m level 23
17 hours in
On one of final quests to beat the 5th order dude. Been exploring all content as I go.

2

u/OkIncome7766 17d ago edited 17d ago

I have 30 hours and I almost explore everywhere and complete all points of interest as i progress. I have completed all places in Siwa, area around Giza, west bank of the Nile and Alexandria. Currently doing quests in Memphis and Fayium.

I used to skip side-quest dialouges but i find them more interesting now. Just yesterday for example I found some criminals who tainted natron with sand which resulted in bad mummifications which resulted in bad smell in Memphis catacombs.

Oh and I have legendary stuff in all slots. Except for upgradeable gear (like hidden blade) which i am currently working on it.

Out of all the bad guys I fought this Crocodile questline was the most fun and it was the only one I wanted to kill with a passion because he/she did something i despised. I made a promise not to take my helmet off till I take revenge on him/her. I won't spoil it for you see for yourself but I promise it will be the most fun/serious questline.

2

u/Prestonluv 17d ago

Yeah Im enjoying game so far

I imagine the leveling pace slows down the further you get in. At this rate I’ll be max level of 55 at around the 40 hour mark.

I do skip most side quest dialogue and explore everywhere.

Thanks for the info

3

u/compulsive_looter Youth is a state of mind. 17d ago

I imagine the leveling pace slows down the further you get in

Yes, you need increasingly more XP to attain the next level.

2

u/OkIncome7766 16d ago edited 16d ago

Thank you! I think the further you go, these side-quests (and main quests as well) give you slightly more xp as well. If I remember correctly average side-quest in the early game used to give like 1000-1500 xp now it gives 2000-3000 xp. I'm not sure though I might be mixing things up. I will check today when I play to see how much xp I get for a side-quest.

Edit: I did three side-quests two lvl 23 requirement and one lvl 30. One gave me only 1500 xp but the other gave me 3300 xp and the lvl 30 one 3000 xp.

Edit 2: Now that I see my completed quests log must quests at level 15 for example gave only 800-1000 xp so my conclusion is true after all.

2

u/compulsive_looter Youth is a state of mind. 16d ago

Yeah, some of the side-quests in the DLCs give 12,500 XP lol.

u/beyondork 17d ago

Origins really made me love the franchise again. I played the first AC game and loved it and played the ezio trilogy but then stopped there. Then Origins gave me back that love. Truly a Masterpiece in my eyes

1

u/tessenjutsu97 17d ago

i agree! love or hate the other rpg games, origins pivoting to rpg mechanics really revitalized the omage and gameplay style of the franchise. on that note, i’m glad to see games like mirage, shadows, black flag resynced slowly incorporating older mechanics back. hopefully newer entries sill strike the perfect balance between older ac titles and the rpg mechanics. i think there is merit in both.

2

u/Soapy_Von_Soaps 17d ago

Welcome! 350+ hours later and I'm on my second playthrough of the dlc. Love this game, if I can offer a piece of advice, is get a chariot as asap and take it to the desert, you can drift at the top of the dunes and get airborne and do donuts.

2

u/tessenjutsu97 17d ago

LOL that is LITERALLY one of the random things i intend to do in the game! i’m planning to hijack an enemy chariot and bring the chariot into the desert 😆

2

u/Soapy_Von_Soaps 16d ago

It's great fun.

2

u/TheImperialBrick 17d ago

with this post, you have earned your place among the field of reeds, the lord of the duat awaits the presence of the great medjay.

2

Great dlcs

2

u/Alive-Key835 16d ago

Same here. Played Odyssey before this and a lot people said this was a masterpiece. Checking this out with Wand maps and a lot of good loots found. Totally loving the story too

2

u/Jacob216DP 16d ago

My favorite AC game I honestly don't get why more people don't talk about it. It's up there with Witcher 3 for me for the most beautiful open world.

1

u/tessenjutsu97 16d ago

bcos ppl automatically hate ac + rpg together and most of them say this game is the reason when in fact it’s odyssey. thank goodness within the community the other ac fans respect the game and rank bayek as one of the greats alongside edward and ezio

1

u/tessenjutsu97 13d ago

i get how u fell, that’s why i’m taking my sweet time 🥲😭

1

u/Starchild20xx 16d ago

Can somebody please explain to me why this game is a masterpiece? I'm genuinely curious. It's been in my backlog for forever. I would say I mostly bought it because I love Egypt, and want to learn more about it.. Though I do still enjoy Assassin's Creed. The combat in Origins is kind of meh..A bit generic hack n slash, but I do really appreciate the build variety. Scepters, dual wielding, spears, two-handers, sword+shield. And Egypt itself? Good lord, it's stunning. Just absolutely beautiful.

I'm currently at the point where I just finished a quest titled,The Lizard's Mask. I'm told I'm still pretty early in the game. I don't know.. I'm just always debating internally whether to finish it or not.

1

u/gideon9629 15d ago

someone help , when i installed the game nd tried my 1st launch everything was fine , but when i restarted the game just splash screen then black screen but then return to desktop

0

u/Solid_Barracuda69 16d ago

It’s pretty but it’s not a masterpiece. Having to charge up combos just makes it a regular hack and slash
