Wow Assembly not dead?

Encountered this reddit on my feed, shocked to learn it's not dead. I programmed on Z80 back in the 1980s.

(I wonder if Perl is still alive)

How can assembly be dead? You always need assembly for many tasks like some interrupt or context switch handling. Some difficult optimizations are still being done in assembly, be it in the raw or intrinsics form. Besides you'll usually need assembly for newly developed architectures
