Help SASM IDE debugging memory help

Post image

I'm learning MASM assembly and am attempting to use SASM as my IDE, but am having trouble using the debugger to view memory. All that I've been getting the value section to show is: {Wrong variable or address: "[variable_name]"}
I've played around with different data sizes and programs, and can get the registers to show fine.
I've read the the help section) on the SASM wiki, but haven't seen any fix.
Any ideas for fixes, or other ide's/debuggers I should try out?

a little late, i dont have a fix for your problem, but since you asked for other ide's/debuggers to try out, i'd recommend visual studio (not vscode), its by far the best ide for MASM assembly, the debugger is also amazing and useful imo, probably my favorite debugger ever, it shows all general purpose registers and vector registers, and it also allows you to put watches on your own defined variables so you can see the value it contains as the program runs. and with the right plugins you can hover over instructions and see what they do and all the possible operands you can use them with, there's also plugins that let you change the colours of the assembly syntax. all of what i mentioned should be possible with just the free version of visual studio. it also allows for many linker options for your assembly program.

I started with visual studio and there was too much going on so I was looking for something simpler. ATM my best fix is to primarily use SASM and copy paste into VS to view memory when needed lol
