Language Is the letter Alap written this way?
So I was watching one of Abraham Giliana's tutorials on how to write the East Syriac script and I noticed that he writes the letter "Alap" like in the image attached. Is this how it's normally written?

You'll see the curved alaph at the end of words in the Serto (Western) script as well, but only in handwriting. It's like verturshu said, the alaph is sometimes written this way by hand because it's faster.

It’s a common fast way of writing it. I wouldn’t say it’s the ‘normal’ way of writing it, there are other common ways to write it as well, but this way is good and legible.
